Four Spanish teams are in the last 16 of the Europa League as Athletic Bilbao, Sevilla, Valencia and Villarreal made it though with respective wins over Marseille, Molde, Rapid Vienna and Napoli.

Lazio will be Italy's sole representative having overcome Galatasaray, while German teams Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund progressed past Sporting and FC Porto respectively.

Fenerbahce, Shakhtar Donetsk, Sparta Prague and Basel also made it through tonight, while Braga progressed yesterday.

So they all go into Friday's draw for the last 16 in which there will be no seeding or restrictions on facing sides from your own country. Liverpool v Man Utd anyone?

So we know it has been a successful night for England's Europa League trio. Manchester United, Tottenham and Liverpool are all in Uefa's glass bowl for tomorrow's last 16 draw.

But who will join them? Here's the list of the teams who are through....

Teenage Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford's debut was "unbelievable", says manager Louis van Gaal.

"In the first half he ran too much at the sidelines," Van Gaal tells BT Sport. "I said to him at half-time to be in the width of the goal and you shall score. Then he scored two goals - it is fantastic for him."

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal: "It was a great performance. The fans will have enjoyed our attacking football. 

"Midjtylland had only crossed the halfway line once and they scored. Normally you get a decline in confidence, but we continued our game.

"We missed a penalty, it was unbelievable but we kept going. i must give compliments to my players."

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino speaking to BT Sport: "I'm happy for the effort. The players were fantastic and now we need to recover our energy for Sunday's match against Swansea.

"We showed character and played very well. 

"For me it wasn't a yellow card [for Dele Alli]. He was calm against Crystal Palace and today and it was another good performance from him and the team."

Manchester United defender Daley Blind is left speechless by Marcus Rashford's display - literally.

The Dutch international comically trips over his words in his post-match interview on BT Sport when he tries to describe the teenage debutant's performance.

"It's a great night for him and all the other youngsters in the squad," he eventually splutters.

"It's great to see them playing well. And I'm really pleased for Memphis too - he was brilliant."

Shohidur Rahman: We have to remember it's only Shrewsbury and Midtjylland. The biggest test is on Sunday with a very young inexperienced team.

Stephen Collins: Bring in eager youngsters like Riley & Rashford, and things happen. Not a coincidence. Can't win anything (without) kids.

Steven Taylor: People will say it was only Midtjyland. But look at the team we fielded. Pretty much U21 with an average age of 24.

Spurs keeper Hugo Lloris speaking to BT Sport: "We completely deserved this win. We did a good job last week. If we compare with last season, we are more mature with the ball. We were very clinical and that's why I think we go through.

"We showed again today great character and mentality in the team and we need to take it on game-by-game and, hopefully, we will be rewarded at the end of the season."

Manchester United defender Daley Blind, speaking to BT Sport: "The first half we played well, they created one chance and scored one goal. 

"We played quick and created a lot of chances in the first half, then in the second half we played even better and scored the goals."

Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli, speaking to BT Sport: "We knew they weren't going to make it easy. We said before the game we said it was important we took our chances."

Alli on picking up a booking which rules him out of the first leg of Europa League last 16 tie:  "It's disappointing, you want to play as much as you can but we have great depth."

All over! It was far from plain sailing, but Manchester United's class finally told against the Danish champions. 

Now they join Liverpool, Tottenham and Gary Neville's Valencia in tomorrow's last 16 draw.

Five goals, a missed penalty, twice hitting the woodwork, plenty more chances....that enough entertainment for you Manchester United fans?
