Wave after wave of Manchester United attacks again now. Midjtylland have all 11 men inside their own half. United are patiently waiting for their opportunity...

Penalty to Manchester United? No! Jesse Lingard tumbles in the away area, hurtling over the outstretched leg of Midjtylland defender Kian Hansen. Referee Istvan Vad reckons the United winger was looking for the spot-kick and goes to his top pocket to pull out a yellow card.

Tough one to call. I think the offcial has got that right... *braces himself for abuse*

"Football can play havoc with emotions.

"The first signs of anxiety were just starting to make themselves evident when Marcus Rashford marked his debut with a goal.

"The response was predictably gleeful and the atmosphere has been turned up a couple of notches.

"The visiting fans reply was in word-perfect English, "You only sing when you are winning."

Reminder: here's the state of play...

Manchester United aren't home and dry yet. Far from it. The tie is level at 3-3, with both sides having bagged one away goal apiece.

Another United goal without reply will see them through, obviously. But we will need another 30 minutes if no-one else nets another in the next 22 minutes.

"I think Rashford has played well - he has not had that many opportunities but he has stayed positive. He made an excellent run for the goal, skipping away from a couple of defenders.

"United have dominated possession so far and unlike on other occasions this season, they have created plenty of chances."

    Marcus Rashford (63 mins)

Roy of the Rovers stuff. Melchester Rovers, sorry, Manchester United are back level in this tie thanks to their homegrown 18-year-old debutant. Marcus Rashford gleefully lashes into the Midjtylland net after being picked out unmarked by Juan Mata's knock-back from the left.

Terrible defending from Midtjylland right-back Andre Romer who should hack clear before the cross from the opposite side reaches Mata.

Rashford doesn't care. He legs it over to the front row of the Stretford End to embrace the celebrating home fans.

Memphis Depay is doing his best to pump up the volume at Old Trafford. The United winger gives Midtjylland right-back Andre Romer more nightmares, beating his man only to see another dark shirt block his shot from a tight angle.

  10. goal

GOAL - Tottenham 2-0 Fiorentina (agg 3-1)published at 21:24 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2016

    Erik Lamela (63 mins)

Tottenham's ambition is rewarded as they land what might well be the knockout punch.

Spurs flood forward in numbers and Nacer Chadli's well-struck shot is only palmed back into the danger area by the Fiorentina goalkeeper.

Dele Alli has a nibble. His shot is blocked. But Erik Lamela swivels and smashes the loose ball home.

    Good night Florence?

    Tottenham 1-0 Fiorentina (agg 2-1)

Openings at either end, but both are wasted by over-ambitious individuals.

First Federico Bernarndeschi cuts in off the left and sends a speculative effort soaring over the top with Nikola Kalinic well placed in the middle for Fiorentina.

Then Erik Lamela attempts to play in Christian Eriksen with a no-look backheel when Dele Alli was the easier pass.

This tie is still in the balance. Not a time to be boarding the showboat just yet.

How bad would a United exit to a team that wasn't even formed 20 years ago rank in their history? Surely it is up there.

And in the last few minutes the unthinkable is looking more likely. The sting has gone out of United's attack after that blistering start to the second half. A bit flat.

Olorunda Titus: Tottenham v Fiorentina might just be a UCL match next season as both teams are doing well in their respective leagues.

But wait! Midjtylland are breaking on the counter. A dangerous cross is slung in from the right, with Paul Onuachu waiting to nod in. But Sergio Romero outjumps the away forward to claw the ball off his bonce.

Manchester United might as well start knocking in the peg, unrolling the groundsheet and lighting a cosy fire...they are camped inside the Midjtylland half. Cross after cross comes into the away penalty area before Jesse Lingard whips another effort over the bar.

    Tottenham 1-0 Fiorentina (agg 2-1)

A little bit of magic from Dele Alli who stuns a dropping ball with a deft touch before stabbing a pass on to Christian Eriksen in the same movement to spark a counter.

Sweet as a nut, but Eriksen's cross can't pick out Nacer Chadli in the middle.

It is open and attacking at the Lane with both sides coming out swinging for the second half.

Nacer Chadli is caught marginally offside as he bursts in behind the Viola before Federico Bernardeschi over-hits a simple throughball to Nikola Kalinic at the other end.

Oh dear. No wonder Ander Herrera is clasping his head with his hands. Memphis Depay turns the Midjtylland right-back inside and out on the left, whizzing past him before delivering a beautiful cross to the far post. There waits Ander Herrera, who somehow heads past the wrong side of the post from seven yards out.

United straight on the attack in the opening stages of the second half, winning an early corner. Juan Mata clips over a ball to the far post, where Morgan Schneiderlin is lurking with intent. But the Frenchman's volley does not make the away keeper work.
