Pierre: Are there any United fans out there who remember the 70's or 80's? This the worst Utd team ever? Total nonsense!

Aidan Williams: Thanks to United, even the person who coined the word 'schadenfreude' is feeling a little bit guilty about laughing too much.

Aden Millen: No sympathy for LVG re injuries. Left us a paper-thin squad and ran most of them into the ground. Reaping what he's sown.

Here's a face that Manchester United don't want to see. Paul Onuachu, who bagged last week's winner, comes on for Marco Urena at the break.

Wonder what Louis van Gaal is saying in the home dressing room? Telling them they need to be "hornier"? Maybe he is sticking Mousee T's 'Horny' back on the stereo in the corner...

  8. 'You feel for Van Gaal'published at 21:00 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2016

Man Utd 1-1 FC Midjtylland (agg 2-3)

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Old Trafford

"As manager, Louis van Gaal is correctly getting the blame for most of Manchester United's problems this season.

"But sometimes, you do have to feel sorry for the Dutchman.

"Already injury-ravaged, he lost his most dangerous striker in the warm-up.

"Now he has watched one of his senior players miss the chance that would have left the tie level at half-time.

"The home fans are still with their team. Do United - and Juan Mata - have the character to respond?"

Colin Reardon: Why on earth don't penalty takers put their foot through the ball? Remember Julian Dicks at West Ham?

Loveof Football: Whoever has a voodoo collection dolls of man u players should stop this! It's carnage! Martial now injured.

While we're cracking out the Stallone references...Manchester United still need a stirring Rocky Balboa-style comeback if they are going to reach the Europa League last 16. One more goal will be enough to take the tie to extra-time, two will see them through. That's providing FC Midtjylland don't cause another scene by scoring.

No more late drama. To be fair, this game has seen as much action as the latest Expendables film. I'm half expecting to see Sly Stallone appear to cause some bother.

From Florence to Haringey, the Fiorentina fans have made a journey less travelled in numbers.

They have just seen Nenad Tomovic booked for nuzzling Ben Davies with his forehead.

That was more eskimo kiss than Millwall kiss.

Oh dear. Groans around Old Trafford after Juan Mata, almost unbelievably, blows the chance from 12 yards. Credit must go to Midtjylland keeper Mikkel Anderson, who flings himself down to his right to block Mata's low effort.

  18. PENALTY TO MANCHESTER UNITEDpublished at 20:48 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2016

Man Utd 1-1 FC Midjtylland (agg 2-3)

A real chance here for Man Utd to go into the break with the tie level - and very little doubt about it as Ander Herrera is brought down by Kian Hansen.

Moments earlier United had hit the woodwork. Midtjylland scorer Pione Sisto was dispossessed in the United half and the home side sprung forward like a hungry greyhound out of the traps. Corner. Morgan Schneiderlin then headed against the post.

The chances are coming quicker for Manchester United than Metrolink trams arrive at Old Trafford. Those who have experienced the city's creaking tram network might not take that in the spirit it was intended - it is meant to be a compliment.

Morgan Schneiderlin goes acrobatic with an overhead kick that flies past the left-hand post, seconds before danger-man Memphis Depay pings an effort past the other post.
