  1. Goodbye!published at 22:40

    Germany 2-3 England

Right, it is time for us to say goodbye and disappear into the night. The England fans over in Berlin will be celebrating long into the night (especially those planning on visiting one of those grimy underground techno clubs in the German capital).

Hopefully they will have sobered up by Tuesday. That's when Roy Hodgson's side are back in action, hosting the Netherlands at Wembley.

We're back on Monday when Wales travel to Ukraine and Northern Ireland host Slovenia.

    See you then!

    Chris Waddle
Former England winger on 5 live Sport

"I'm fed up of us going to a tournament, like Brazil, saying it is a learning curve, the next one is a learning curve.

"What are we building for? Qatar? All these players going to the tournament are first-choice Premier League players. Let's try and win it!

"Do Germany go to a tournament and say it is a learning curve? Will France be saying it is a learning curve for the World Cup in Russia? No.

"None of these teams go to go out in the quarter-finals, pat themselves on the back and say well done."

Jordan Harrison: I can't remember the last time England's football, cricket and rugby teams all played well at the same time.

Craig Andrew Smith: A few years ago it was Ox, Wilshere & Walcott. They didn't take their chance, step up Ali, Dier and Kane, your turn!

    Germany 2-3 England

England manager Roy Hodgson is asked in the Olympiastadion tunnel if the performance was the best of his four-year reign....

"It must be close - you don't beat Germany every day," he tells ITV. "It was a good follow up to our performance against France, we carried on where we left off.

"At half-time I thought it was very unjust that we came in at 1-0 down, our keeper was injured and that really hampered him trying to save the long shot from Kroos. At 2-0 down I thought it was even more unfair.

"We were creating the better chances and to come back and score three goals was fantastic. The players must take great credit."

England striker Harry Kane, who produced a Johan Cruyff turn before firing in the visitors' first: "Was it a dedication to Cruyff? Maybe! We played brilliant today, had a lot of chances, we could have scored more. We never gave in. What a night.

"Everyone needs to stay calm. It is a friendly, but it is a great night for England and shows what a team we are.

"We have to keep coming back, keep doing what we're doing, we have another important game on Tuesday against the Netherlands and go from there."

England's equalising goalscorer striker Jamie Vardy, who has been central in Leicester's unlikely Premier League title chase, speaking to ITV: "Is it the high point of your season? Yes I think it is.

"I was trying to make impact, I've done that and we won the game. I just wanted to get across near post, get something on it and tried a back heel. Luckily it went in."

"What an exceptional performance. They took the game to Germany and if England can play that way they shouldn’t fear anyone in the Euros.

"A year ago England would have crumbled but they have changed the system and threw the subs on. A lot of things have worked."

"Expectations will rise but why not. There are a lot of players missing but they were brilliant.

    "Take a bow lads."
