Man City v West Brom (17:30 BST)

    Steve Bower
    Match of the Day commentator

"If Manchester City had produced the spirit that was evident in Paris in midweek on a more consistent basis, they would be right in the hunt for the Premier League title.

"There appears to be little margin for error to make sure Pep Guardiola has Champions League football to look forward to next season but, while Sergio Aguero is fit and firing, they look to be in the driving seat. The Argentine will play his 200th game for the club hoping to add to his 129 goals to date.

"West Brom, having reached their first target of 40 points, face an uphill task against a team they've managed only one point against in their last 12 league meetings."

  2. 'We showed some rustiness'published at 17:21 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

    Watford 1-1 Everton

Everton manager Roberto Martinez: “We had to work really hard for it. It was a good game, two teams with a lot of energy playing on the front foot. Watford were at their very best today.

“It’s a disappointment to concede from a dead ball situation so close to half time and because of the nature of the goal, the deflection.

“There was another 45 minutes to play from then.

“We never allowed Watford to regain momentum. We were strong in the second half again and the amount of chances we created, we showed a little bit of rustiness from the last few games. Another day we would have scored the winning goal.

“We were able to penetrate into a Watford team who don’t give you many opportunities at home.

“We had many good individual performances, Gareth Barry gave us a real fluency. At the back we dealt with the front two of Watford really well and we had a good focus."

  3. 'The supporters are remarkable'published at 17:18 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

    Aston Villa 1-2 Bournemouth

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa caretaker boss Eric Black speaking to BBC Sport: "Not going down today is a small consolation. I was happy with the energy and desire to do what we asked them to do.

"We've conceded poorish goals, but we have to remain professional until the end. Come Monday morning we have to dust ourselves down and go again.

"We didn't create as many chances as we would have liked. Ultimately if you concede poor goals it will be hard to score.

"I'm sure it's not easy to play in that atmosphere, but there have only been two or three victories here this season so I won't be criticising the supporters. They turned out again today, which I find remarkable. This is certainly not down to the supporters."

  4. 'It's important to finish well'published at 17:15 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

    Swansea 1-0 Chelsea

Swansea manager Francesco Guidolin: "This is the first victory in the Premier League for Swansea against Chelsea and I am happy and proud we played very well in the first half. We deserved to score other goals.

"It's a very important win for our fans. It's a good afternoon for our players, our club and our fans. Jefferson Montero is an important player for us. Safety is almost real, but I hope to take other points in the next weeks because it's important to finish well."

  5. 'Toxic atmosphere made it diffcult'published at 17:12 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

    Aston Villa 1-2 Bournemouth

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe speaking to BBC Sport: "This was really important for us. It was a hard game. It was very nervy from both teams but I thought we dominated the ball and deserved it in the end.

"It was a difficult game to play in because of the toxic atmosphere. We made it that way with the way we started.

"Callum Wilson has worked so hard and it's great to see him back in a Bournemouth shirt on the pitch."

  7. 'Everything looks easier now'published at 17:07 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

    Swansea 1-0 Chelsea

Swansea defender Angel Rangel: "With the 40 points we're far away from the bottom and to beat Chelsea for the first time in the Premier League is a great achievement. All the players put a good shift in today and overall it was a great performance. With this win everything looks much easier now."

  8. 'It was a definite penalty'published at 17:07 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

    Crystal Palace 1-0 Norwich

Norwich winger Matt Jarvis: "We created numerous opportunities but couldn't put the ball in the back of the net.

"I was wiped out in the first half but the ref gave a corner but it came straight off me. It was a penalty, definitely.

"It was an important game for us but they have won it with a great finish. We have to learn from it but we played well enough."

  9. 'A massive win!'published at 17:03 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

    Crystal Palace 1-0 Norwich

Crystal Palace winger Jason Puncheon: "It's massive, we haven't won for so long and it was edgy at the end. I missed a sitter against West Ham and a sitter in the first half so I thought it wasn't going to happen but I got there in the end.

"It's a great relief for the whole club. We had to be dogged.

"The goal meant a lot because it has been difficult for me, I have been disappointed in myself."

  10. 'That was a big win for us'published at 17:02 British Summer Time 9 April 2016

    Southampton 3-1 Newcastle

Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama: "Today we needed a win, and that was a big win for us. We needed to get back on track. We did well. It was always going to be a tough game, but we went for it from the first minute. We put on pressure thanks to the early goals.

"It's a long time since I scored. The last goal I scored was last season, so I'm really glad to get on the score sheet.

"Newcastle are in relegation trouble, so we knew they were going to throw everything. We needed to stay in the game. We did it well.

"It's just a case of taking it game by game, trying to take maximum points, and then we can get somewhere nice."

Mike: Thought I'd feel more upset but Villa have been so poor all season I now don't care. Players and staff just pathetic
