    Bournemouth 0-1 Chelsea

Bournemouth are just inviting Chelsea pressure as they back off Eden Hazard, enticing him to shoot which he duly does. His effort is blocked. Not much urgency from Bournemouth.

    Liverpool 1-0 Newcastle

What a setback for Newcastle. They will have gone into this game on a high after a crucial win against Swansea last time out but they have plenty of work to do now after Daniel Sturridge's early goal.

Are they looking like getting back into it? Nope, all Liverpool at the moment.

A chance for Villa fans to get excited. Well, I say excited. As animated as you can get about your already-relegated side almost scoring.

The hosts have a free-kick which Lenadro Bacuna takes, the ball hits the wall and Jordan Ayew pounces but Fraser Forster smothers his follow up.

    Jermaine Jenas
Ex-Spurs & England midfielder on Final Score

"Cesc Fabregas has been playing passes like that his whole career; the amount of times he lands it right on the money is beyond belief. Pedro, he just shifts his feet so quickly, controlling and lifting over the keeper in one movement. It's a beautiful finish."

    Trevor Sinclair
Former England winger on Final Score

"The movement from Sturridge for the goal is brilliant. He is on the shoulder of the defender, but he has got no right to score, he's got two defenders on him.

"He is a fox in the box, selfish, but if you don’t pull the trigger you are not going to score."

    Pedro (5 mins)

Ah, cheers Pedro for keeping these early goals coming.

Cesc Fabregas makes it with an incisive ball that splits open the defence. Pedro chases and as Artur Boruc races out the Chelsea man clips the ball into the far corner. Neat finish.

    John Hartson
Ex-Arsenal & Wales striker at Anfield for BBC Radio 5 live

"A great finish form Sturridge. Who knows, he might not have started if Origi wasn't injured. The Newcastle defence was far too slack though - Sturridge was allowed to turn and he stuck it in the corner. To concede after what, 30 seconds? Terrible start for Newcastle. Especially on the back of their last two results."

Almost another early goal at Villa Park as well!

    Daniel Sturridge (2 min)

    Well that was quick.

A quick free-kick by Liverpool with their first attack and the ball is pumped towards Daniel Sturridge in the area. The striker has plenty to do with his back to goal and two defenders in close attention, but he chests, controls, swivels and scores.

"Eddie Howe has done an unbelievable job at Bournemouth - and he's done it in the right way, playing good football. The only worry though is Bournemouth have lost four of their last six home games and seem to be getting into holiday mode now they're safe. That's something Howe will want to get out of them."

    Manchester City

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini: "A big team must always be focused on both competitions. Premier League and Champions League. Every big team must do it every year.

"Stoke is fighting for nothing but nobody wants to lose games. It was important to score the first goal.

"Kelechi Iheanacho is an important young player with a lot of future. He scores lots of goals but he is not just a penalty box player. I am sure that his role in this team will be very important.

"Vincent Kompany is not able to play Saturday and Tuesday at this moment. We did not want to take the risk."

Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart: "We've got our job done and we look forward to Tuesday now.

"Kelechi's been brilliant, he turned up last pre-season somewhat unknown it's fair to say and he has really worked hard and got stuck in. The manager has had a lot of faith in him. He shows what a good squad we have got now.

"Since the international break we have done well. We just need to keep that going until the end of the season."

Kelechi Iheanacho: "I am very pleased and happy to score goals today. I thank my team-mates, the manager and the fans. I am improving a lot but I need to work even harder to show my qualities."
