Poor old Marouane Fellaini, he gets nothing but stick on social media. Is there anyone out there who likes him?! Please message us if so in the interests of balance.

Phil Johnson: Playing Fellaini makes sense if you send crosses into the penalty area, but United rarely do that.

Adeyinka: I must confess, whenever i see Fellaini in the starting line-up, i always feel that our chances of winning is very slim.

"You're looking for Mata to have quality on the ball but so far he's struggled, but it's been a good start to the game - a good tempo."

Man Utd 0-0 Liverpool (Agg: 0-2)

Juan Mata ends a passage of slick passing with an overclubbed pass out wide, disappointing stuff from the number eight. No time for anyone to think out there.

Man Utd 0-0 Liverpool (Agg: 0-2)

Emre Can lazers a beautiful cross-field pass out to Nathaniel Clyne but the England full-back loses the ball and United attack. Guillermo Varela has a cross blocked as James Milner shows his defensive skills. Daniel Sturridge attacks down Liverpool's left but the men in red shepherd it out. End-to-end.

Superb tempo. Tackles snapping in in midfield as Manchester United make the early running. James Milner is indeed playing at left-back.

Marcus Rashford has some serious wheels as he chases a ball over the top but Mamadou Sakho matches him stride for stride. Old Trafford as loud as I can remember in a long, long time.

Liverpool are wearing all black tonight. Where will James Milner end up playing? Handshakes, loud boos as the teams are read out. Proper atmosphere.

    Valencia out

There will be no return to Old Trafford for former hero Gary Neville. Or no return to Anfield for that matter!

Valencia have been knocked out on away goals by fellow Spaniards Athletic Bilbao.

"You've got to take the game to Liverpool and push them back. If they sit back and play cautious it leaves Liverpool's front three high up the pitch and that causes problems.

"Liverpool's weakness is defensively. You have to get at them."

Many of the continent's top players are already sweating away, trying to reach the Europa League quarter-finals.

But Gary Neville’s Valencia find themselves in a spot of bother. Facing the tough task of overturning a 1-0 first-leg deficit against Athletic Bilbao, it was all smooth sailing as they led 2-0. However, La Liga rivals Athletic have just scored - and that means, with a few minutes left, they are going through on away goals.

Elsewhere, Villarreal took a 2-0 first-leg lead to Bayer Leverkusen and are coasting through with the second leg still goalless. Italian side Lazio need a miracle - they are 4-1 down on aggregate against Sparta Prague after conceding three first-half goals against the Czechs.

Half-time United 1-0 down having had zero shots on goal, LvG gets fired & thrown out of the stadium, Giggs takes over for the second half. Martial and Rashford bag hat-tricks in a 6-3 aggregate win. I may have drunk too much Guinness today.

    The late games

It isn’t all about Tottenham, Manchester United and Liverpool from 20:05 GMT though.

Holders Sevilla are closing in on history in their bid to become the first team to make it to the Europa League last eight on three consecutive seasons.

Can they do it? The Spaniards drew 0-0 in the first leg against Basel, but their home form – where they’ve won their last 16 matches in all competitions at the Sanchez Pizjuan - should see them through.

Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk go to Belgium's Anderlecht with a 3-1 advantage, while Portugal's Braga have to turn around a 1-0 deficit when they host Turkish visitors Fenerbahce.
