  1. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:34

    Norwich 0-0 Man Utd

Dilly ding, dilly dong! Wake up Carrow Road. Time to grab a half-time hot dog. That first-half snooze-fest is over, although I suspect Alex Neil will be reasonably satisfied.

Same old story for the Canaries though...they have the cutting edge of a toothbrush.

  2. Leicester players 'instant legends'published at 13:30 British Summer Time 7 May 2016

    Leicester v Everton (17:30 BST)

    Martin Keown
Former Arsenal defender on Football Focus

"It is a breath of fresh air for football.

"The players are all instant legends because it is so unexpected.

"Looking to the future, with the Champions League, it just gets better and better. I think they are just enjoying the moment."

Centre-back Ramiro Funes Mori is serving a ban and forward Gerard Deulofeu has a knee injury.

Oluwaseun Badejo: Wondering just what Rooney brings to this side. No pace, even less guile. Ah, must be because he is captain

White Lion Radio: Guaranteed defeat for Man Utd today, so far they have been pathetic and have square pegs in round holes all over the pitch.

Muigai Moses: Painful football to watch from MUFC Rooney can't seem to hold the ball long enough for support & zero wing play.

  6. 'Boro should already have put this game to bed'published at 13:27 British Summer Time 7 May 2016

    HT: Middlesbrough 1-0 Brighton

    Terry Butcher
Ex-England captain at Riverside Stadium, Radio 5 live sports extra

"Brighton have huffed and puffed but any attempt to get through this tough Middlesbrough rearguard has been dismissed quite contemptuously.

"However, at the other end of the pitch it's been one-way traffic. The game has been all Boro and, honestly, they should already have put this game to bed.

"Brighton have to go for it, they have to score, and they have to play better. Whenever I have seen Brighton this season they have been better than this - maybe it's nerves.

"The next half will be the most important 45 minutes of the season for both sides."

  7. Championship latestpublished at 13:27 British Summer Time 7 May 2016

As it stands at the break, Middlesbrough will be joining Burnley in the Premier League next year. They lead Brighton 1-0 at the Riverside. The Clarets, who are certain of being crowned champions with a win, lead by a similar scoreline at already-relegated Charlton

Play-off hopefuls Hull are ending the (regular) season in style. They went 1-0 behind to Rotherham but now lead 4-1 with Jake Livermore and Mo Diame scoring their third and fourth respectively. Elsewhere, Blackburn lead Reading 2-1 and Wolves are 2-0 up against Sheffield Wednesday.

Southampton's Dutch international defender Virgil Van Dijk has signed a new six-year deal at Saints, just eight months after joining the club for £13m from Celtic.

Undoubtedly a massive hands-off to clubs after an impressive first season in the Premier League for the 24-year-old.

    Norwich 0-0 Man Utd

Edgy, tense, plenty of errors. Did we expect anything else at Carrow Road? Little quality so far from either team. Alex Neil looks more stressed than Louis van Gaal, the Scot on his feet shouting and bawling from the touchline. Van Gaal is reclining on his seat, doing the crossword. Sorry, he's actually making notes about the game...

Little under 10 minutes until the break.

  11. Time to relax - Howepublished at 14:34

Bournemouth v West Brom (15:00 BST)

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe: "The fact that we are now mathematically safe means we can relax and play some really good football.

"I was anxious to get the job done ourselves, to win the games and get points - that would have been the ideal. As it happened we had to rely on other teams, which is never nice.

"We have had a really tough run of fixtures, the results have not been great, we would love to end this season on a high, we would love to end our home form on a high and try and get our supporters going into the summer feeling very good about next season."

Bournemouth v West Brom (15:00 BST)

Full-back Adam Smith will miss Bournemouth's final two games of the campaign because of a groin injury.

Centre-back Sylvain Distin is unlikely to play again this season due to a back problem, but winger Max Gradel is in contention after returning to training.

West Brom manager Tony Pulis may make changes for his side's penultimate match this season.

Youngsters Tyler Roberts and Sam Field are expected to be in the squad, while 17-year-old Jonathan Leko could start again after impressing last weekend.

Scotland midfielder James Morrison is hoping to feature after returning to training following a long-term hamstring injury.

From plenty at stake in the Championship to nothing to play for in the Premier League...

Bournemouth v West Brom is not going to get the adrenalin pumping - and, I'd guess, is the early favourite to close Match of the Day later.

At least there's a good chance of topping up the tan on the south coast ahead of kick-off...

    Middlesbrough 1-0 Brighton

    Terry Butcher
Ex-England captain at Riverside Stadium, Radio 5 live sports extra

"Brighton's final ball has been rubbish, really. We have to hope they can start to string a few things together in order to make this a better contest.

"At the moment Middlesbrough are just sitting back and will be feeling pretty comfortable."

  15. Championship latestpublished at 13:12 British Summer Time 7 May 2016

It remains 1-0 to Middlesbrough in the big promotion clash at the Riverside. Burnley, who are already promoted, are on track to seal the Championship title with Sam Vokes having given them the lead at Charlton

Elsewhere, Hull have come back from a goal down to lead 3-1 against Rotherham. Robert Snodgrass, Abel Hernandez and Jake Livermore with the goals for the Tigers.

Nicky Maynard has equalised for MK Dons against Nottingham Forest, Cardiff's Anthony Pilkington has made it 1-1 between his side and Birmingham and a David McGoldrick penalty has given Ipswich the lead at Derby.

No fun in the sun for Louis van Gaal yet - despite the sunglasses-wearing Manchester United manager looking like he's having an al fresco lunch with the missus.

His team could have already conceded against relegation scrappers Norwich - and now injured full-back Matteo Darmian has been carried off on a stretcher.

If Norwich score soon then Van Gaal will be wishing he was sat outside a swanky Cheshire bar with a glass of white and charcuterie board.

Villa's opponents are usually the first team down on your Saturday accumulator. But before you put a cross next to Newcastle, here's a word of warning from their manager Rafael Benitez....

"We have an important message for the players this week - no complacency and concentrate. We have to be focused," says the Spaniard.

"I do not see an easy game. I see a difficult game. [Villa] need a win because of the fans, the club and the history."

Aston Villa left-back Aly Cissokho is suspended because of his red card at Watford, so Leandro Bacuna or Kieran Richardson - if fit - may deputise.

Midfielder Jordan Veretout and striker Rudy Gestede are also doubts, but Gabriel Agbonlahor could return after his club suspension.

Newcastle defender Daryl Janmaat returns after missing the last four games with a groin injury.

He will challenge for a right-back spot with Vurnon Anita, who has recovered from a knock he suffered last week.

So Brighton are staying in the Championship. As. It. Stands. Three very important words there.

If the Seagulls don't pick up any scraps against Boro then they will be playing in the same league as Aston Villa next season. For the first time since 1983!

Which leads us nicely into looking ahead to Villa's final Premier League home game for...well, who knows.
