  6. 'Fellaini's elbow worse than Dembele's actions'published at 09:51 British Summer Time 7 May 2016

    BBC Radio 5 Live

“When you’re playing football it means something and sometimes you lose yourself in it. That being said you can’t condone gouging," former West Brom striker Jason Roberts tells 5 live Sport.

“But things happen on the pitch that can genuinely hurt somebody – like Fellaini’s elbow on Huth.

"That, in my opinion, was much more dangerous and more of an issue than what Dembele did.”

  7. Dembele punishment harsh - Givenpublished at 09:49 British Summer Time 7 May 2016

    BBC Radio 5 Live

The punishment dished out to Dembele by the Football Association is "way too high", according to Stoke goalkeeper Shay Given:

“Looking at the incident, did he stick his finger in his eye and actually gouge his eye? I’ve seen worse tackles on the field which don’t get a suspension or a maximum of three matches," the former Republic of Ireland international told BBC Radio 5 live.

“If someone is going to go in two-footed, lunging, and their opponent are out for six to nine months with a broken leg and they don’t get a ban…I don’t understand that.

“I think it is harsh. I know the FA is trying to send a message that this isn’t acceptable, but I’ve seen worse things on a football pitch.”

  8. Battle of the Bridgepublished at 09:46 British Summer Time 7 May 2016

    Chelsea 2-2 Tottenham

Ah, yes, the fall-out from the 'Battle of Stamford Bridge' (not the one involving King Harold in 1066) continues.

Mauricio Pochettino is clearly not a happy man after Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Mousa Dembele was banned for six games for appearing to eye-gouge Chelsea striker Diego Costa.

It was a bad tempered 2-2 draw between Spurs and Chelsea, which included a record-breaking nine yellow card shown to Tottenham -  the most by a single team in a match in Premier League history.

Dembele chose not to contest the charge, and will now be unavailable to manager Mauricio Pochettino until Spurs' fifth game of next season.

Why continue to read a fairytale when we know the ending? Because the story continues to be a charming one. The underdogs have toppled the big-spending behemoths, the genial Italian has morphed into a Roman God, and the Foxes ran away with the coveted prize.

But there is still a coronation to witness; free pizza, free beer and a special performance from a superstar tenor. , external
