BBC Sport Wales at Stade de Lyon

The ills of modern football, number 47,345,671 (or thereabouts): Why are Wales and Portugal both wearing their away kits?

Surely one of them should be wearing their home red strip?

Daryl Wing: Cheering on the Scot in the tennis and the Welsh in the football. Sad times for an Englishman.

Sunday Adekanyi: The Portuguese defence cannot stop Bale from scoring.

Cristiano Ronaldo picks up a loose ball in midfield and drives on, he sizes up Ashley Williams, who lunges in - and to the shock of everyone in the stadium referee Jonas Eriksson says play on!

Williams got a touch on the ball but that was a foul all day long...

What a rendition of Wales' national anthem - the hairs on the back of my neck stood to attention.

It's been a good start from Wales, passing the ball well. But they will be without the creativity of Aaron Ramsey, who was so pivotal in the last game.

  5. 'Wales can hurt Portugal'published at 20:02 British Summer Time 6 July 2016

    Portugal 0-0 Wales

    Kevin Ratcliffe
Former Wales captain on BBC Radio 5 live

It's 11 v 11. Anything can happen. But I do think Wales' best chance is to win it in 90 minutes. Portugal are maybe a bit inexperienced in midfield and they're perhaps a bit suspect at the back too. There are one or two areas where Wales can hurt them.

Wales have got a big chance. Anywhere near the performance they produced against Belgium, and why not? Yes there's been a few enforced changes but they're all well drilled.

Defend strong. We cannot afford to give any free-kicks away on the edge of the box.

Wales have never been afraid. But when they are favourites and have got to take the game to somebody else, that can be when we suffer. We're a counter-attacking side, we've proved that time and time again, but with more experience we'll get better at that.

James Collins just wiping his eyes before the Wales anthem kicks in. A powerful and emotional night for all of these players - and the thousands in the stands, the millions back home.

A superb rendition. A sea of red at one end of the Stade de Lyon.

    John Hartson

James Collins will go in and do his best to adjust to the three centre-back system that Wales play, but also I think he's a real threat from set pieces. He'll go and put his head on it, and defensively too he is strong in the air. We know how important that part of the game is for Portugal.

Not sure I've ever heard 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' played at a match before. Twenty-five years old. Extraordinary.

Who are you backing? The poor performances of Portugal so far make Wales favourites?

Or will the Portuguese experience of reaching the final stages make them strong when it matters?
