    Chris Waddle
Former England winger at Stade Velodrome on BBC Radio 5 live

They don't deserve it, but France stuck at it and defended well. A cool head from Griezmann, but Schweinsteiger? What was he doing? Boateng gave one away in the last game, and that was another silly spot-kick conceded.

Mark: Giroud is excellent in the air. Absolutely awful at everything else.

Darren Skingle: How slow is Giroud? Runs like he's treading water!

Ibrah's Heel: That is why Giroud is absolutely pointless against this Germany side

So they were battered for about 35 minutes but France should possibly be ahead at half-time. We hoped for a good game, and we've got one.

Needs some goals to become a great one though...

  7. 'Get your head up!'published at 20:44 British Summer Time 7 July 2016

    Germany 0-0 France

    Chris Waddle
Former England winger at Stade Velodrome on BBC Radio 5 live

Olivier Giroud did so well to win the ball but once he was away never once did he get his head up, when Griezmann was square...

  8. PASS IT MAN!published at 43 mins

    Germany 0-0 France

Oh what a chance for France! All of a sudden Olivier Giroud is clear and away from the halfway line, it came from nothing.

Giroud trundling away, he's got Antoine Griezmann screaming for a pass, Marseille demanding a pass, the whole of France hoping for a pass - but he goes on.

Benedikt Howedes gets over to make the tackle. He celebrates like he's just scored the winner.

Giroud had to pass that. Had to!

    Martin Keown
Former England defender at Stade Velodrome on BBC One

It's great play down the left-hand side and Antoine Griezmann takes it really early into the side-netting, he chips it up to volley it. Good technique.

They could do with the energy of N'Golo Kante in midfield.

  10. Can we have the ball, please?published at 20:43 British Summer Time 7 July 2016

    Germany 0-0 France

Three Germany players (Bastian Schweinsteiger, Toni Kroos and Mesut Ozil) have had more touches between them (152) than the entire French team (140).

Antoine Griezmann has had more touches (29) than any other French player, but that's fewer than eight of the Germany team.

  11. 'Hard to explain how easy'published at 20:43 British Summer Time 7 July 2016

    Germany 0-0 France

    Chris Waddle
Former England winger at Stade Velodrome on BBC Radio 5 live

It's been so easy for Germany. It's hard to understand by just listening but Germany have so much quality on the ball, everyone looks so comfortable in possession. They've simply dominated this game.

  12. CLOSE!published at 42 mins

    Germany 0-0 France

All credit to France, they had a 30-minute workout that would leave most teams in tatters but they are now ending the half strongly. Patrice Evra, in the German half for perhaps the first time, squares to Antoine Griezmann, the angle is against him but he shoots into the side-netting.

Germany corner, Bastian Schweinsteiger is up for a header but goes down as Paul Pogba makes a challenge. Penalty? No. Pogba just outmuscled him.

  14. Postpublished at 39 mins

    Germany 0-0 France

Blaise Matuidi with a mistake, undercooking a backpass and Thomas Muller is in on the back four of France. He doesn't have support though and elects for the early, ambitious shot from 25 yards +. He doesn't catch it anywhere near cleanly enough and Hugo Lloris can fall on it.

  15. Leading the line...published at 20:39 British Summer Time 7 July 2016

    Germany 0-0 France

It's been all Germany. Look how far France have been pinned back.

The white shirt furthest forward in this graphic is Germany's number 13, Thomas Muller. But at times we've even seen Emre Can leading the line in this fluid display from the world champions.

'First one ref!' shouts Emre Can as he trips the elusive Antoine Griezmann 30 yards out. Referee Nicola Rizzoli is not interested and books the Liverpool man. Another free-kick to interest Dimitri Payet.

  19. Postpublished at 34 mins

    Germany 0-0 France

It's one of those displays where you wonder what you would say as France manager. They haven't made any mistakes as such - they just can't effect the game at all. Germany on top in every way since that early Antoine Griezmann chance.

    But it remains 0-0 somehow,

  20. 'Germany dominant'published at 20:34 British Summer Time 7 July 2016

    Germany 0-0 France

    Chris Waddle
Former England winger at Stade Velodrome on BBC Radio 5 live

How are Germany not winning this football match? France are constantly chasing. They've been dominated since about the fifth minute. They just can't get out. They can't get near the Germans.
