The closing ceremony is over - it's colourful for sure - as chants of 'Allez Les Bleus!' ring out around the Stade de France.

The teams are in the tunnel, Patrice Evra easily the most vocal. Barking orders out.

  4. 'Griezmann player of tournament'published at 19:53 British Summer Time 10 July 2016

    Alan Shearer
    Ex-England captain on BBC One

Antoine Griezmann has been the player of the tournament without a doubt - unless Cristiano Ronaldo scores three or four tonight,.

He's been brilliant. His team looked to him to produce the goods. For the size of him, he's very good in the air. He's so clever. His link-up play with Olivier Giroud has been superb - his understanding of the game and pace as well.

  5. 'Hungry to please'published at 19:52 British Summer Time 10 July 2016

    Portugal v France (20:00 BST)

    Rio Ferdinand
Former England defender on BBC One

I wouldn't accept in my dressing room a player berating his team-mates in front of everyone. You see all of this from Cristiano Ronaldo but he is a team man. In the changing room he is involved in all of the banter. He is a leader, he has a desire and he is hungry to please all in Portugal and deliver a trophy.

Speaking of terrible records, David Guetta is now playing his theme tune with the help of a string section. Actual musicians.

"I'm David Guetta! And today the world feels like one!"

He actually just said that. Out loud.

  7. A terrible recordpublished at 19:50 British Summer Time 10 July 2016

    Portugal v France (20:00 BST)

Portugal have lost five out of five games against host nations at the Euros/World Cup (England 1966, France 1984, South Korea 2002, Germany 2006 and Switzerland 2008).

Ever seen someone play 'Seven Nation Army' on an accordion?

Me neither. That's what closing ceremonies are all about as now David Guetta - arguably man of the tournament - appears.

Cristiano Ronaldo is a leader. That's one of the impressive things about him in this tournament, working hard. He didn't score in his first two group games but when his country needed him the most he answered.

He's so powerful in the air. I can't tell you how difficult his goal against Wales was.

He's taken goalscoring to a new level.

Xavi brings the trophy - in Spanish hands since 2008 - onto its plinth at the mouth of the tunnel at the Stade de France.

  12. 'Giroud is essential'published at 19:44 British Summer Time 10 July 2016

    Portugal v France (20:00 BST)

    Danny Mills
Ex-England defender on BBC Radio 5 live

Giroud is not an outstanding goalscorer but that is not his role in the team. He does do a job for the team though.

He is an essential cog in the team that makes them work. You need someone who holds the ball up when you have creative players.

He might not be the greatest but he works in that team.

Players from both sides really being distracted in their warm-ups by the sudden infestation of large moths in  the Stade de France, batting them away as the two teams go through their warm-ups.

The official closing ceremony is about to get under way. Mercifully it begins at 19:47 BST and lasts for six minutes - lots of crowd involvement and a giant inflatable trophy.

  15. 'Deschamps not scared to change'published at 19:41 British Summer Time 10 July 2016

    Portugal v France (20:00 BST

    Thierry Henry
Former France international on BBC One

Didier Deschamps has made a mistake in a couple of games by choosing the wrong tactics but he has been man enough to hold his hands up, admit it and change things in the second half. He is not scored of putting Antoine Griezmann or N'Golo Kante on the bench.

Cristiano Ronaldo is all smiles as the players complete their warm-ups. France start as favourites tonight but is he perhaps the one single stand-out player?

Is he past his best? Almost certainly. But he can still win a game in a second. Just ask Wales.

  17. 'Deschamps deserves tremendous credit'published at 19:40 British Summer Time 10 July 2016

    Portugal v France (20:00 BST)

    Alan Shearer
    Ex-England captain on BBC One

France have an excellent team spirit. Before the tournament, he had to deal with Mathieu Valbuena and Karim Benzema not being in the squad, Raphael Varane being injured, Mamadou Sakho being suspended. To get through all of that and get a team out playing like they have done, France boss Didier Deschamps deserves tremendous credit.
