France have been the most entertaining team - in five of their six games, they've scored two or more.

The big players have turned up when they've had to - Antoine Griezmann and Dimitri Payet. And their goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is outstanding. They've been the best team without a shadow of a doubt.

Incredibly France have won their last 10 games against Portugal - that's quite a run. Can the hosts continue that marvellous run?

  3. A tale of two playerspublished at 19:06 British Summer Time 10 July 2016

They're both in the final but there's no doubt about which of these players have been the star of Euro 2016. Antoine Griezmann has scored twice as many goals as Cristiano Ronaldo  - in fewer minutes - with only 53% of the shots Ronaldo has taken.

I think the fans have been the highlight for me.

There have been good moments and decent football but I wouldn't say it has been an outstanding tournament.

The underdogs have surprised a few and had all the praise and rightly so.

Even though France have played here twice already in the tournament I think tonight, because it is the final, there will be extra emotion.

    Behave.

And now Mark Clattenburg gets to lead out a team of officials at the final of Euro 2016.

Britain may not have been able to produce a player at the showpiece occasion but my word Clatts, assistant referees Simon Beck and Jake Collin and additional assistants Anthony Taylor and Andre Marriner can officiate with the very best of them.

They could make a late run for 'team of the year' at Sports Personality of the year...

  9. 'Nearly Men'published at 19:00 British Summer Time 10 July 2016

    Portugal v France (20:00 BST)

Portugal have been on the fringes of success since their so-called 'Golden Generation' first bore fruit in the late 1990s.

    A recent Euros record reads:

    2000: Semi-finalists - lost 2-1 to France after extra-time in Brussels.

    2004: Runners-up - lost 1-0 to Greece in Lisbon.

2012: Semi-finalists - lost to Spain on penalties in Donetsk.

No wonder Portugal are 'the nearly men' of the European Championship. So close yet so far. Will 2016 see them win the tournament for the first time?

  10. 'Griezmann has got a bit to do'published at 18:55 British Summer Time 10 July 2016

    Portugal v France (20:00 BST)

    John Motson
    BBC commentator

France have been the best team - regardless of what happens tonight - and they have overtaken Spain and Germany as Europe's top side.

I expect them to beat Portugal and complete a special treble of tournament wins on home soil.

In 1984 and 1998, I was in France to see them win the European Championship and then the World Cup. They certainly make the most of being hosts.

Each team has been built around a star in the 'number 10' role. In 1984 there was Michel Platini, in 1998 there was Zinedine Zidane and now they have Antoine Griezmann.

Griezmann is almost certain to finish as the tournament's top scorer with six, and only Platini - with nine in 1984 - has ever managed more in a single Euros.

Platini scored in every game that year and Zidane got two in the 1998 final against Brazil, so Griezmann has still got a bit to do. Let's see what he can do on Sunday!

There are moths. There could be millions inside the Stade de France, where they have come from goodness only knows.

I have been told that people have got vacuum cleaners on the side of the pitch and if it becomes too much of a problem they will hoover them up.

The France team have brought the nation together during Euro 2016 and restored a bond lost after the 2010 World Cup, says former striker Thierry Henry.

France finished bottom of their group in 2010 amid a player revolt, but today they face Portugal in the final of their home European Championship.

"We have a team again," Henry told BBC Sport. "People can relate to them, everything is back on track.

"You can see that it is beyond football, beyond sport.

"Six years ago everyone was laughing at us. Now we need that cup at the end to show how far we have come."

A total of 2,000 people have been involved in producing more than 3,500 hours of television content for audiences around the world during the tournament - and the culmination of all that work will be tonight's final at the Stade de France. The match between France and Portugal will be filmed by no fewer than 51 cameras, which will include:

    • Two cameras on board helicopters above the stadium
    • Two cameras on motorbikes
    • A 'spidercam' suspended on wires above the pitch to follow the play
    • Cameras on rails behind both goals
    • Eight 'super slow motion' cameras to provide extra detail when showing replays of key incidents
