    Switzerland 0-1 Albania

Ermir Lenjani goes on a zig-zagging run for Albania who are very much still prepared to have a go here. His industry leads to a cross which Yann Sommer plucks from the air. Switzerland will kick themselves if they concede but it has to be said that Albania have not yet thrown the towel in and in Armando Sadiku, they have a striker who looks prepared to run further than Forrest Gump if he has to. Will his graft lead to something?

  2. Postpublished at 58 mins

    Albania 0-1 Switzerland

Switzerland captain Stephan Lichtsteiner has scored just five times in his 81 outings for his country and he briefly thinks he may get a sixth here when he bursts from right back into the box. The ball just will not sit for him though and he's crowded out six yards from goal.

  3. Dzemaili hits postpublished at 55 mins

    Albania 0-1 Switzerland

Switzerland are pressing and Granit Xhaka fires high and wide.

Had Blerim Dzemaili found the net just before the break then some of Switzerland's bigger names could be resting up by now.

Still they have work to do.

  4. GREAT SAVE!published at 54 mins

    Albania 0-1 Switzerland

Albania have seven men behind the ball as Switzerland knock the ball around with confidence, a few flicks and touches of quality in there.

Granit Xhaka plays a telling pass to Haris Seferovic who moves the ball onto his left foot and goes for the toe poke. It's palmed to safety.

    Trevor Sinclair
Former England winger on BBC Radio 5 live

"It looks like a problem for Johan Djourou when balls are played over his head. I don't know if it's a problem judging distance but he got caught out in the first half and he's just been caught out again. Switzerland were very fortunate to get away with that."

  6. CLOSE!published at 50 mins

    Albania 0-1 Switzerland

A long ball pumped forward gets Armando Sadiku chasing what looks like a lost cause but Johan Djourou decides the ball has to be intercepted and manages to give Sadiku hope of getting a touch. The Albanian striker flicks a leg out and any touch would do despite being 18 yards out as Yann Sommer is way out of his goal. He can't get any purchase on it and Switzerland - particularly Djourou - can breathe a sigh of relief.

Ricardo Rodriguez, the Swiss left-back, pushes forward and nudges a ball behind the defence for Xherdan Shaqiri but the keeper is out quickly to smother. A round of applause from Shaqiri who will want to use this chance against 10 men to get his Euro 2016 tally moving.

  8. Armando Sadiku shot saved by the keeperpublished at 15:05 British Summer Time 11 June 2016

    Albania 0-1 Switzerland

Albania fans will look back on this moment with frustration. Trailing 1-0 but with 11 men, had Armando Sadiku found the net then things would look very different right now.

The late Sir Norman Wisdom is probably shouting for Albania, wherever he may be right now.

The English actor and comedian, who passed away in 2010, is a hero to some in the country.

Wisdom - famed for roles in Last of the Summer wine and countless films - was one of the few Western actors whose films were allowed to be shown in Albania during the dictatorship of Enver Hoxha.

He was made an honorary citizen of Tirana - the country's capital - and when paraded on the pitch for an Albania v England fixture in 2001, drew more scrutiny than David Beckham.

And we are back under way. Albania have a massive task ahead of them with 10 men and already Xherdan Shaqiri is picking the ball up in some space but his pass cannot quite get his team-mate away.

There have been some strong tackles from Granit Xhaka, his disciplinary record isn't great and that is something that he will have to watch in the Premier League. His passing is very nice, but he has a determination to get back and retrieve the ball, so he has a nice balance to his game. It looks promising for Arsenal.

Back to Lens and we have spotted the Xhaka family in the stands. With a son on either side, mother Xhaka, on the right, has gone with a Swi-Alb t-shirt.

  13. Hennessey out?published at 15:01 British Summer Time 11 June 2016

    Wales v Slovakia (17:00 BST)

There are some rumors in Bordeaux that Wales may have to do without Wayne Hennessey in goal today. The word is he has a back spasm.

One would think the possession is going to now fall more and more the way of Switzerland.

They played 260 passes in all in the opening 45, some 84 more than their opponents.

  16. Lorik Cana sent off for Albaniapublished at 14:55 British Summer Time 11 June 2016

    Albania 0-1 Switzerland

Albania came back into the game after a quiet start, but the sending off really hurt them. I'm not sure what the goalkeeper was trying to do for the Swiss opener.

The occasion maybe got to him, and rather than waiting for the ball to come to him, he made his mind up before it was delivered.

As for the skipper Lorik Cana, the first yellow was stupid. And when he got this second yellow, he wasn't even looking at the ball as it was played over. His team-mates were patting him on the back when he went off but I don't understand that. I would have been fuming.

  17. I'm off for a Xhiropublished at 14:54 British Summer Time 11 June 2016

    Albania v Switzerland (14:00 BST)

If you're going for a Xhiro in Albania, you're going for an evening walk.

What is more, the good decision makers in some of the country's towns close roads to cars at certain times of the evening so locals can take their stroll in a traffic-free environment.

    How lovely.

This was the moment Lorik Cana thought 'oh no'.

    Thierry Henry
Former France International on BBC One

"I don't know what the Albania keeper was trying to catch for the goal. They got caught day dreaming.

"You can't make these kind of mistakes in a tournament. Lorik Cana was over aggressive for his first yellow and his handball was a straight red."

Opta tell us that Switzerland scored seven goals from corners in the qualifying campaign (29% of their total goals), more than any other side.
