    Burnley 0-1 Swansea

Great save! Burnley are denied a late leveller by Swansea keeper Lukasz Fabianski. The Poland international acrobatically tips Dean Marney's blaster over the bar. Time ticking out for the Premier League boys...

Harry Kane has been drifting into a number 10 position to accommodate Janssen. I am not sure whether that is good for Kane individually but Tottenham have certainly looked brighter as a team since Janssen was introduced.

  10. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 16:46 British Summer Time 13 August 2016

    Southampton 1-1 Watford

Southampton have the ball in the back of the net. But the flag is already up. Nathan Redmond neatly tucks in, but the Saints summer signing goes too quickly behind the Watford defence.

The writing is on the wall. There have been rumours and there is smoke and fire. The end might be nigh for Joe Hart at Manchester City.

I'm not at the training ground and don't know how they train or how the manager manages. But I'm not happy with it. I think Joe Hart deserves the right to start the season.

He didn't have a great Euros but you've got to give him the benefit of the doubt. You can kill a keeper's confidence and a relationship between a keeper and a manager. I think you've got to start with Joe. I'm disappointed with that.

Big news from the Etihad Stadium for Pep Guardiola's first game in charge - he has dropped England goalkeeper Joe Hart. He is on the bench and Willy Caballero comes in.

City's new £47m centre-half John Stones makes his debut, with left-back Aleksandar Kolarov filling in alongside him at the back, and another summer signing, Nolito, also starts.

Donald Love and Lyden Gooch make their debuts for Sunderland, and Jermain Defoe returns from injury to lead their attack.

The Black Cats' other new boys - Adnan Janujaz, Papy Djilobodji, and Paddy McNair are all on the bench for David Moyes' first game in charge.

    Southampton 1-1 Watford

Southampton, with that extra man after Ben Watson's dismissal, are hogging the ball now. They're like a greedy kid refusing to share sweets. Saints pressing for a winner, Watford hanging on.

    Everton 1-1 Spurs

Everton have a rare break as Arouna Kone finds Ross Barkley, but his cross from the right is beyond everyone.

Barkley appears to have hurt himself in that move, but the Toffees have used all their changes.

    He appears OK to continue.

Not much to report from the Riverside really. A draw not a disaster for either side.

    Burnley 0-1 Swansea

Almost an instant response from Burnley. Andre Gray goes close, but not close enough.

The Clarets haven't lost at home since December last year. They have got about five minutes to prevent that.

Can Everton hold on? Less than 10 minutes to go. Spurs playmaker Christian Eriksen curls a free-kick over and then Maarten Stekelenburg pulls off a diving fantastic save from goalscorer Erik Lamela.

Everton struggled in goal last season but summer signing Stekelenburg has been really excellent on his debut.
