    Everton 1-1 Spurs

Erik Lamela has had a hand in seven goals in his last seven Premier League appearances for Spurs (three goals, four assists).

And as I write that, the Argentine catches James McCarthy late, but he escapes punishment.

    Nathan Redmond (58 mins)

Debut goal for Nathan Redmond. The Southampton summer signing punishes Heurelho Gomes for some suspect goalkeeping. The Watford stopper punches a corner to Redmond's feet - and he buries an angled half-volley. All square!

  3. GREAT SAVE!published at 16:17 British Summer Time 13 August 2016

    Burnley 0-0 Swansea

Stunning! Swansea keeper Lukasz Fabianski stops Burnley taking the lead with a superb one-handed save. Sam Vokes' eyes light up as the ball bounces invitingly, smashing towards the right corner from 15 yards. But Fabianski has other ideas with a diving stop.

Spurs have looked a different side since Vincent Janssen came on, although he has nothing to do with their equaliser.

Kyle Walker plays a cross in from the right which Erik Lamela heads home.

    Middlesbrough 1-0 Stoke

Not much happening at Boro, although summer signing Marten de Roon, who went off injured in the first half, comes back out to the bench with heavy strapping on his hamstring.

    Crystal Palace 0-0 West Brom

Bad news for Albion fans - centre-back Jonny Evans is down injured. The Northern Ireland international winces as he clambers back to his feet, looks like he is carrying on though.

The travelling supporters are enjoying themselves in the Selhurst sun. A large number of them are bare-chested. They're clearly wanting to top their summer tans.

    Everton 1-0 Spurs

Tottenham sub Vincent Janssen is already in the mix, controlling a ball before crossing to Dele Alli, who blazes over.

  8. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:13 British Summer Time 13 August 2016

    Everton 1-0 Spurs

Here comes Tottenham's number nine Vincent Janssen for his debut.

The 22-year-old cost £17m this summer from AZ Alkmaar. He was last season's top scorer in the Eredivisie with 27.

He replaces holding midfielder Eric Dier in a very attacking switch.

We were waxing lyrical about Everton in the first half. There was a lot of purpose and hunger about them but in the second half it's role reversal.

It looks like Mauricio Pochettino has given Tottenham a right dressing down. They have got more fire in their belly and they are having a go. They needed a rocket.

    Crystal Palace 0-0 West Brom

What a chance! Wilfried Zaha is clean through for Palace, he should score... He doesn't. Albion keeper Ben Foster stands tall to save his effort, blocking the rebound too. Zaha can't believe it. More urgency about Palace since the break.

Really, really poor performance from Tottenham in the first half. They moved the ball slowly around the pitch and looked lethargic. Pochettino will certainly have asked for more from his players at half-time.

    Everton 1-0 Spurs

Spurs goalkeeper Michel Vorm goes down after getting an accidental clonk on the head from Gerard Deulofeu.

He gets up and continues, which will be a huge relief for Spurs as they don't have a third keeper in their matchday squad.

Seconds later Vorm saves an effort from Deulofeu.

    Burnley 0-0 Swansea

Burnley carve up their best chance of the match. Dean Marney piles forward from midfield, glancing a header onto the roof of the net. That raises the volume inside Turf Moor.

Moments later, it goes quiet when keeper Tom Heaton goes walkabout, failing to punch clear a Kyle Naughton cross. The ball falls to Mo Barrow, whose shot is blocked by Matt Lowton.

    Middlesbrough 1-0 Stoke

A third Stoke player goes into the book. It's like the Tony Pulis days again. Phil Bardsley was number three for a foul on Albert Adomah.

    Everton 1-0 Spurs

Everton start the second half well and Gerard Deulofeu wins a corner. Spurs are struggling with his pace and skill so far.

    Burnley 0-0 Swansea

Newly-promoted Burnley look like they've had a flea in the ear from their intimidating boss Sean Dyche. The hosts are straight out on the front foot. Sam Vokes tries to use his height to unsettle the Swans defence. They cope and clear.

  17. KICK-OFFpublished at 16:05 British Summer Time 13 August 2016

We are now under way in all our five games. Only three goals so far. Surely we'll get more in the second half. SURELY?!

    Everton 1-0 Spurs

We're hearing that Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, who came off during the first half, has a hamstring injury.

Second half is under way at Goodison Park, but not all our games are back in action yet.

I think the one thing that was glaringly obvious over the last couple of seasons at Everton was that they looked poor without the ball. Immediately you can tell the difference in the first half today as Everton returned to their shape quickly and hunted the ball.
