    Southampton 0-1 Watford

Keepers are going down left, right and centre! Watford stopper Heurelho Gomes also has a problem. Looks like his hammy. The Brazilian has a bit of treatment, but reckons he is fit enough to carry on. One to watch...

  2. SUBSTITUTION - LLORIS INJURED FOR SPURSpublished at 15:35 British Summer Time 13 August 2016

    Everton 1-0 Spurs

Well. Spurs' day is going from bad to worse. Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, who has already made four saves and conceded one, is injured and has to be replaced by Michel Vorm.

    Southampton 0-1 Watford

Better from Southampton. Dusan Tadic twists and turns in the right channel of the Watford box, kippering away centre-back Miguel Britos before dinking the ball towards the far stick. Shane Long springs into the air, heading wide of the left-hand post.

Spurs looked kind of shocked. I don't think they expected Everton to play this way - pass, pass, pass.

  5. YELLOW CARDSpublished at 15:32 British Summer Time 13 August 2016

    Middlesbrough 1-0 Stoke

It's all kicking off at the Riverside with three yellows in quick succession. Stewart Downing  is booked for a foul on Phil Bardsley and then Gaston Ramirez seems to catch Erik Pieters with an arm. Ramirez is booked, and so is Stoke keeper Shay Given for dissent after the 40-year-old flew out of his goal to have a word.

    Crystal Palace 0-0 West Brom

Andros Townsend is looking sharp. And I'm not just talking about his new barnet. (A razor all over if you're interested.) The £13m summer signing is Palace's liveliest attacker, having their first shot at goal on the half-hour mark. Not troubling Ben Foster though.

“Every question Tottenham are asking, Everton are answering. Tottenham are struggling to work the ball wide to get it into the box and Everton are finding it quite comfortable at the moment.”

  8. Postpublished at 15:28 British Summer Time 13 August 2016

    Crystal Palace 0-0 West Brom

"One Jonny Evans, there's only one Jonny Evans!"

The away end finds its voice as the West Brom defender snuffs out a Palace tackle with a crunching tackle on Andros Townsend near the byeline.

Evans has been heavily linked to Arsenal hasn't he? The Baggies fans are making it clear they want him to stay.

    Everton 1-0 Spurs

Spurs have their first shot of the season but Christian Eriksen's effort from straight outside the box is straight at Toffees debutant Maarten Stekelenburg.

  10. Postpublished at 15:26 British Summer Time 13 August 2016

    Everton 1-0 Spurs

Spurs' new striker Vincent Janssen is loosening up on the touchline. Harry Kane has barely been in this game. He's only had nine touches - fewer than any other outfield player.

  11. Postpublished at 15:26 British Summer Time 13 August 2016

    Southampton 0-1 Watford

Not much improvement from Southampton. St Mary's has gone a bit quiet. Watford looking likelier to bag the second goal.

  12. Football League updatepublished at 15:24 British Summer Time 13 August 2016

"Will Grigg's on fire, your defence is terrified, Will Grigg's on fire..."

In the Championship, the Wigan man has opened the scoring in a Lancashire derby against Blackburn, while Jacques Maghoma has put Birmingham ahead at Leeds. Barnsley are up against Derby too.

In League One, Alex Revell has netted against Charlton, while Bradford lead at Peterborough.

And in League Two, Jon Stead has equalised for Notts County against Stevenage, and Colchester lead against Cambridge.

Everton are creating a lot of chances. They look really cohesive and it looks like Ronald Koeman is having an effect already.

    Burnley 0-0 Swansea

Burnley fans will probably be happy with their team's start on their Premier League return. They're coping very well with Swansea's attack, but have offered little themselves up top.

Oh hang on... centre-back Ben Mee makes a howler. He gifts possession to Fernando Llorente about 30 yards out, but the former Athletic Bilbao and Juventus striker shoots low at Tom Heaton.

Everton are really playing well at the moment. Looking good with the ball and without the ball.

  16. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 15:23 British Summer Time 13 August 2016

    Middlesbrough 1-0 Stoke

Off comes Boro's second most expensive signing ever, Marten de Roon, with injury. He's replaced by Adam Forshaw.

What is catching my eye is Watford. They seem to be very confident on the ball and once they get into the final third out wide they cross it and they are getting players in the box. It looks a very simple philosophy and they look comfortable playing it.

    Everton 1-0 Spurs

Everton midfielder Ross Barkley, who is playing his way into my fantasy football team for next week, almost gets his head onto Leighton Baines' cross but he's put under sufficent pressure by a Spurs defender.

And now Kevin Mirallas has an ambitious effort from out wide but Hugo Lloris easily saves it.

Spurs have done nothing so far.

  19. Postpublished at 15:19 British Summer Time 13 August 2016

    Crystal Palace 0-0 West Brom

It is hotting up at Selhurst Park. The weather, that is, not the action. Croydon looks scorchio. I remember getting sunburnt in the away end there a few years ago. In April!

Anyway...on the pitch, little has happened since that chance for Salomon Rondon. And then...Rondon proves a bit of nuisance again, picking out striker partner Saido Berahino with a clip in from the right. Poor header from Berahino though, the ball trickling well wide.

    Middlesbrough 1-0 Stoke

Oh oh, Middlesbrough's most expensive summer signing - £12m midfielder Marten de Roon - is helped off the pitch after pulling up while chasing Bojan. It looks like his day is over.
