I feel it was a penalty because there was enough contact from Winston Reid. Anthony Taylor seems happy enough to book players, particularly Diego Costa when he went running after him asking for a penalty.

Another booking, this time West Ham defender James Collins for tripping Diego Costa from behind.

Costa starting to warm up, he will ruffle a few feathers.

Meanwhile, Chelsea striker Diego Costa ran 30 yards to scream at referee Anthony Taylor for not awarding the penalty.

Under new legislations, it means Costa goes into the book. He had best be careful this season.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, a brilliant midfielder back in the day for Juventus, playing alongside the likes of Alessandro Del Piero, brilliantly controls the ball in his technical area as the ball runs out of play.

The home crowd enjoyed that one.

Winston Reid is a big strong lad with plenty of pace. West Ham are so good from free-kicks at the moment. If you give away a set-piece he's the type of player that could punish you.

Eden Hazard, PFA Player of the Year two seasons ago, did not have the best time of it last season. Will we see more of him this campaign?

The Belgian finds space on the edge of the box, but after taking a touch, lashes his strike over the crossbar.

New Belgium boss Roberto Martinez, who is watching on from the stands, will not be impressed by that.

West Ham sweeping the ball around nicely, but it's Chelsea who draw the first save.

It's right-back Branislav Ivanovic who gets forward, making a neat turn in the box to escape the attention of Cheikhou Kouyate, before striking a low shot at the front post of Adrian, but the Spanish goalkeeper gets down well to push the ball away.

Visitors West Ham have started this game the better, getting their foot on the ball and have had 60% of possession so far.

It's a poor free-kick by Enner Valencia from a promising position, scuffed into the area and Chelsea themselves are given a free-kick for a foul on goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

A let-off for the home side.

These two sides are really getting stuck in already. This time Chelsea defender Gary Cahill hauls Andy Carroll over and Enner Valencia stands over a set-piece about 30 yards out

Barely three minutes in and N'Golo Kante has received a very early yellow card.

Having tackled Andy Carroll earlier, he tries the same two minutes later but mis-times it and fouls the England striker.

Referee Anthony Taylor feels it warrants a booking and the Frenchman is now treading a fine line for the remaining 87 minutes.
