    Man Utd 1-2 Man City

That goal has completely changed the game. Suddenly, United look a threat. Rooney nicks the ball off Nicolas Otamendi before crossing to the back post where Zlatan Ibrahimovic is well-placed but heads straight at Claudio Bravo.

Steve Howes: Oh dear pep did you make the wrong goalkeeping choice, what was he doing so far from goal.....bring back Hart.

Shaun Farrelly: At least Claudio Bravo is good with his feet...

Liz Tray: Incredibly poor from Bravo. Come out that far? GET IT. We've absolutely dominated them and that is a turning point.

Manchester United are back in the game. You couldn't see that happening. Bravo came, under no pressure, and it was an easy cross to catch.

But the finish from Zlatan Ibrahimovic was superb - it wasn't easy. United are back in this and they don't deserve to be.

    Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Talk about a gift! The free-kick following the Silva foul is floated into the box and Claudio Bravo calls, jumps above his own defender and spills, allowing Zlatan Ibrahimovic to slam home. Good finish. Awful keeping. Cough, Joe Hart, cough.

David Silva is not a tackler. He slides in on Antonio Valencia before Nicolas Otamendi crunches him. The Spaniard gets the booking.

Kevin Logan: Silva is running the midfield against £100million man Pogba. £100million. Man.

Greg: Not only is De Bruyne a very good footballer but his work rate is phenomenal.

Adewale Paul: Who needs Sergio Aguero.

City fans are loving this. It isn't hard to see why.

  10. 'Well done City'published at 13:08 British Summer Time 10 September 2016

Fully deserved. The difference between the two teams is massive. Mourinho will have learned today that he needs legs in his team.

De Bruyne has done ever so well and Blind just jogs out, playing Kelechi Iheanacho onside. Ineacho is in the team for just that. Well done City, who have played so well.

City look so sharp but Manchester United look as if three or four players, especially the two up front, haven't got a sprint in them. Mourinho must make changes, even this early in the game.

GOAL - Man Utd 0-2 Man Citypublished at 35 mins

    Kelechi Iheanacho

Deserved. Totally deserved. The "stand-in" Kelechi Iheanacho doubles City's lead as Kevin de Bruyne's angled shot strikes the post and falls to him to finish from a central position. Initially he doesn't celebrate - perhaps stunned at the space he was afforded - before realising Daley Blind has played him on and wheeling away in celebration.

Pep punches the air. What now, Jose?

David de Gea has to be sharp to dart off his line and claim the ball at the feet of Raheem Sterling as the forward tries to get on the end of David Silva's pull-back.

The United fans scream in anger as the keeper holds on to the ball because he has no options available.

United have to be worried by this. They've offered next to nothing so far in attack. They are having to use every bit of energy to keep up with City, who are quicker, smarter, stronger, just better.

John Dunthorne: Rooney frustrated by the score and his own performance, not acting like a captain. Needs to be replaced.

Femi John Atoyebi: Magical Rashford desperately needed by MUFC.

Shuvam Sinha: How about a certain Schweinsteiger to hold up the ball and dictate the play for United in midfield?

    Man Utd 0-1 Man City

The United fans scream for a penalty as Henrikh Mkhitaryan falls under a clumsy hands-on challenge from Claudio Bravo. They may have got one too, were it not for the assistant's flag that had gone up a few seconds earlier for offside against the Armenian.

De Bruyne has been excellent so far. Not only has he scored the goal that separates the sides, he is taking up good positions, moving intelligently and winning tackles.

Chance spurned by United. Henrikh Mkhitaryan breaks into space down the left but his low cross is cut out.

Seconds later, Rooney's frustration boils over and he jumps into a tackle on David Silva. Luckily - for both players - he doesn't make contact.
