    Burnley 2-0 Watford

I've been impressed with Johann Gudmundsson tonight and the Icelandic winger plays a wonderful pass to slice Watford asunder - the best piece of open play all night - to free Sam Vokes, who skips around Heurelho Gomes, only to see the flag raised.

What a pass though. Turf Moor bouncing.

Walter Mazzarri is animated on the touchline, all gesticulations and drama. Does he look like one of the Baldwins to you? Or is that just me?

Watford's last seven goals which they have conceded have been from crosses. Bring back Danny Shittu.

Really poor defending again from Watford. They clear the first ball but Steven Defour puts the ball back in and he just jumps and scores. It's not as if he has run and got the header in.

Watford are just not at it.

Two crosses from set-pieces, two goals! And it's another assist for Steven Defour. His corner is headed out but he is afforded time and space to put in a second cross and centre-half Michael Keane is able to climb and head into the bottom corner. Too easy!

This is promising, a much brighter start to the second half as George Boyd pings in a cross/shot of real promise which is only cut out by fine defending by Sebastian Prodl.

    That's me told!

I will try to be more positive but I'm reliant on the action on the pitch - and that is better, Troy Deeney lashing in a shot from 16 yards and Tom Heaton pushes it clear.

Have to say that I was very impressed by Jeff Hendrick at the Euros and was hoping he'd get the move he deserves this summer, delighted for him. Proper footballer.

Dear Tom. Stop being so patronising. If you're not happy with what you're watching then go and have a prawn sandwich while the BBC find someone more willing & deserving of doing the text commentary.

A change, will do you good. Watford bring on Juan Zuniga who scored against Manchester United. Off goes Craig Cathcart.

Jeff Hendrick may have also pushed Jose Holebas in the back as he scored his header. Make that three reasons for Watford to be unhappy with the game's first goal then! None of them overly convincing.

It wasn't hugely entertaining. Watford have been really poor by their standards. Burnley got the ball out wide and into the box and, whether it was offside or went out of play, you have to deal with it.

Looking at Burnley tonight they need to get their points at home. Look like they know how to play there and get the crowd behind them! Sean Dyche done great job on a budget!

Watford were not happy with the corner that led to Jeff Hendrick's opener, for two reasons we think.

One, they thought that Dean Marney was offside in the build-up. He looked level to us.

And two, they thought that Steven Defour's corner itself had gone out of play behind before curling back in.

Either way, the goal stands. Watford must improve.

    Burnley 1-0 Watford

The first real effort on goal for Watford comes from a neatly-worked free-kick on the right wing, played short to Roberto Pereyra who crosses for Odion Ighalo. He can't generate much power in the header and Tom Heaton is able to save.

Moments later Matt Lowton is booked.

Better from Watford as Odion Ighalo makes a nuisance of himself to create a crossing chance for Valon Behrami on the right, his delivery is decent but Dean Marney is well stationed to side-foot clear on the bounce.

Just one attempt on goal for the visitors so far, just 46% of possession, this has been a poor display from Watford, who will be glad to get in just 1-0 down at the moment.

Just a simple ball into the box. There were two Burnley players at the far post and either of them could have headed it. Watford were like statues. They had no-one on the post and, if you had someone on the post, it could have been cleared.

Burnley almost have a second from another set play as Ben Mee heads a deep free-kick across goal and Sam Vokes is again almost able to meet it on the full!
