    Burnley 0-0 Watford

Ex-Man City defender on BBC Radio 5 live

It's too easy for Watford at the moment. Burnley are sitting off them but at some point someone will have to go and close them down. Watford are able to play the ball around with no real pressure.

No faulting the Turf Moor crowd for noise in these early stages. All the play has been from the visitors though as Nordin Amrabat has a cross well claimed by Tom Heaton.

When I said Watford were in all white, I of course neglected their black socks. Important clarification for a text-only page, I'm sure you'll agree.

    Burnely 0-0 Watford

It's going to be a difficult game for Burnley as Watford have pace and power. It is two different styles of football. Watford are on a bit of a high at the moment.

I know it is early in the season but if Burnley don't win this evening they will start looking over their shoulder.

  5. KICK-OFFpublished at 1 min

    Burnley 0-0 Watford

Looked like Sean Dyche got a round of applause from the away end as he galloped across the Turf Moor surface. A warm handshake too for Walter Mazzarri.

Referee Mike Jones has got us under way.

Watford are all in white tonight as they stride down the narrow tunnel at Turf Moor, plenty of undergarments on display which perhaps tells its own story about the weather. It's autumnal alright.

With Andre Gray out, who is going to get the goals for Burnley tonight? We have mentioned Wales target man Sam Vokes, but in midfield record signing Jeff Hendrick can get a goal or two. He scored only two last season for Derby but got nine the year before that. Surely he'll have a licence to get forwards tonight.

    Almost time for kick-off...

  10. All eyes on Gomespublished at 19:48 British Summer Time 26 September 2016

    Burnley v Watford (20:00 BST)

Heurelho Gomes is a man with plenty of Premier League experience and the Watford keeper could play a key part tonight.

It is now eight years since he first appeared on these shores for Tottenham.

Part of me was hoping that Sam Allardyce's move into the England dugout would see some niche picks, but I can't see it now. Can you?

Watford will move level on points with Chelsea tonight with an away win. Odion Ighalo is due a goal - he has scored just once this season so far.

At Tottenham, Etienne Capoue played 36 times and managed two goals, the sole reply in a 5-1 thrashing by Manchester City and an FA Cup goal against tonight's opponents Burnley.

Last season he failed to register in 36 appearances for Watford - but so far this term he has four goals in five league appearances and is averaging a goal every 109 minutes in the Premier League.

Keep that up and he'll score another 26 goals by May...

If the weather here in Salford is anything to go by, we could be in for a cold and wet night at Turf Moor.
