GOAL - Burnley 1-0 Watfordpublished at 38 mins

    Jeff Hendrick

Breakthrough! The corner is whipped in from the right, Jeff Hendrick towers over his man to head down into the six-yard box, Sam Vokes is close to getting a touch to the bouncing ball but he doesn't and it carries into the net.

His first goal for the club, and a very soft one for Watford to give up. An awful lot of goals from corners this weekend.

Watford defender Jose Holebas is next in the book, again it's for arguing with an official as Burnley look to build up a head of steam before the break. Corner...

Roy Keane is in the house, keeping an eye on Jeff Hendrick and Stephen Ward, and getting out of the house. He won't have had many notes to make so far. Heavy weather thus far.

I'm not a supporter of either Burnley or Watford but tonight I shall be routing for Dyche's side. The reason; I like teams with good British representation of which the Clarets are great examples and Watford largely a disparate band of imports.

I get the sort of feeling that both teams are happy with a point at the moment.

If a chance comes their way they will try to take it but there is no deliberate attempt to create something.

Heurelho Gomes duffs a clearance out and Burnley can counter, it is worked out to Matt Lowton at right-back, who shanks his cross out of play.

I read earlier on that Watford fans have only had to pay a tenner to get in tonight. It's a good job.

In lieu of any action in the Premier League let me tell you that Chris Brunt, Saido Berahino and Oumar Niasse have all scored for their respective reserves tonight.

This is the first reserve update in a series of one.

Both teams look a bit nervy and edgy in the final third. Burnley have to capitalise on the pressure they have at the moment. Watford keeper Heurelho Gomes, apart from the one from George Boyd, hasn't really had a save to make.

Johann Gudmundsson looks a threat for the home side. Watford are having a really bad spell at the moment as they are giving the ball away.

  10. CLOSE!published at 24 mins

    Burnley 0-0 Watford

The first real shot from range as Johann Gudmundsson cuts in from the right and flashes in a low shot which skims the side-netting. The Burnley winger has looked the most likely so far. Which is not saying much. Troy Deeney has been anonymous, as have Watford as a whole.

  11. YELLOW CARDpublished at 21 mins

    Burnley 0-0 Watford

The first booking of the night goes to Watford midfielder Roberto Pereyra, he gives away a soft free-kick for a barge on George Boyd and he's absolutely furious. Plenty of chat coming the way of ref Mike Jones and a caution for dissent.

    The free-kick comes to nothing.

Sam Vokes is a handful in the air, just ask Belgium. Matthew Lowton whips in a cross from deep and he gets across Sebastian Prodl to get a header in, which is deflected wide.

A typically robust challenge. This qualifies as a highlight.

High on perspiration, short on inspiration so far in this one.

  17. GREAT SAVE!published at 9 mins

    Burnley 0-0 Watford

Good spell of play from the hosts which stems from a poor header by Watford defender Miguel Britos. Johann Gudmundsson then crosses in and Sam Vokes has a header deflected over.

From the corner George Boyd has a swing - and Heurelho Gomes has to make a decent save to push it away!

    Standing ovation at Turf Moor.

  18. Can Burnley score enough goals?published at 20:08 British Summer Time 26 September 2016

When you look at the Burnley players, they are not household Premier League players. They all want to play but my worry is are they going to score enough goals? Teams that survive in this division - look at what Jermain Defoe did for Sunderland last season. If you have got a threat you can survive.

Nordin Amrabat is lucky not to see yellow for a lunge on Steven Defour but the Belgian's free-kick is easily cleared by the totemic Sebastian Prodl.

Burnley are leaving Sam Vokes up front on his own, with a compact midfield three some way behind him. A good chance to get a good look at Steven Defour tonight. He was very highly rated six or seven years ago.
