Astra knocked the Hammers out last season before the group stage, can they do it again?
West Ham v Astra Giurgiu (Agg: 1-1)
West Ham manager Slaven Bilic speaking to BT Sport: “It is a very important game for us. We want to qualify, we are one game away from qualifying and we have a job to do."
On skipper Mark Noble's absence: "He's not playing because he felt a little bit of pain on Sunday. He has played a lot of games, he has not missed many friendlies. He is not injured, hopefully he will be OK for Sunday's match against Manchester City.
"It is nothing major. He played through the game against Bournemouth with that feeling, but it would be too risky to play him. He is not rested."
On Manuel Lanzini and Dimitri Payet's fitness: "We wanted and hoped for Lanzini and Payet to play, but we have a full season ahead of us. After these couple of games we have an international break and gives us a cushion to prepare for next games. Maybe one of them will be alright to play on Sunday. But tonight was too early."

Captain Mark Noble has the evening off but he's still at the ground, watching on from the tunnel area in his suit and tie.
Almost set, atmosphere and attendance building.

What are your favourite and least favourite words in the footballing dictionary and why?
Adam Gray: "Tekkers".... urgh... made my skin crawl typing it out.
Sean: When "literally" is frequently misused. Once heard "This is LITERALLY the group of death" after a Champions League draw.

And more transfer news, of more relevance to this live text. West Ham have signed Edimilson Fernandes - brother of former Manchester City man Gelson I believe.
Arsenal to spend big?
David Ornstein
BBC Sport
Arsenal have agreed a deal to sign Deportivo La Coruna striker Lucas Perez and are close to reaching an agreement with Valencia for centre-back Shkodran Mustafi.
Spaniard Perez, 27, scored 17 goals in 37 games last season and Arsenal will meet his 20m euros (£17.1m) buyout clause.
Germany international Mustafi, 24, has spent two seasons at Valencia and is set to join the Gunners for a fee in excess of £35m.
Following the arrivals of midfielder Granit Xhaka, defender Rob Holding, forward Takuma Asano and midfielder Kelechi Nwakali, Arsenal's spending this summer is set to near £100m.

What are your favourite & least favourite words in the footballing dictionary and why?
Rich, Swindon: Worst word in football has to be 'cute' when referring to a pass, or when a player overplays the ball. 'He was trying to be too cute there', absolutely no place in the game.
West Ham v Astra Giurgiu (Agg: 1-1)
Just 20 minutes or so to go until kick off at the Olympic Stadium. I can tell you, if you were wondering, that Astra have made one change from the first leg with striker Denis Alibec coming into the side.
Cultured left foot, an excellent example there. I should have added a disclaimer before we started this chat that I am prone to using most of the words you hate the most, very often.

What are your favourite & least favourite words in the footballing dictionary and why?
Richard C Ridley: Worldy. When someone scores a good goal, my initial excitement turns to horror and revulsion when this word is used.
Aaron J Wood: For me it's the word 'Cultured' always seems to be said after someone does something ordinary with their left foot.
Dave Mulcock: 'Turgid'. Has no one looked at the definition!?, external

What are your favourite & least favourite words in the footballing dictionary and why?
Cataphonics: Favourite is hoof.
Failsworthmfcf: War chest for transfer funds. Pluralising (the Ronaldos and Messis of this world)
VonEley: Fav = stanchion, evokes memories of watching WBA vs Port Vale in the 90s. Honest and gritty days. Worst = "simulation" It's cheating!
We all fall foul of the literal misuse of literally - but there are some crackers in here., external
You'll go a long way to find a better one than "In his youth, Michael Owen was literally a greyhound."

What are your favourite & least favourite words in the footballing dictionary and why?
Ryan, Doncaster: There's nothing wrong with the word itself, but the players' overuse of the word 'obviously' in interviews always annoys me. Especially when what they're saying isn't that obvious at all.
West Ham v Astra Giurgiu (Agg: 1-1)
West Ham manager Slaven Bilic said this week that he is interested in signing Manchester City forward Wilfried Bony, but will not "beg" anyone to join the club.
Strikers Andy Carroll and record signing Andre Ayew are both injured, while the Croatian admits he was close to signing AC Milan's Carlos Bacca.
The Colombian opted to stay in Italy, with Bilic unwilling to chase the forward because he says there are other targets "calling me every day".
Bilic added the deal became "a saga".
Tekkers - a truly great call early doors. Let's put that in footballing Room 101.

What are your favourite & least favourite words in the footballing dictionary and why?
Harsh Shah: CROSSBAR! - At the end of a great move by your team.
Kevin Hepworth: Worst word in football is agent, best is GOAL.
Jonathan Hind: Worst - tekkers or take a bow.
The group stage draw will take place at 12:00 BST on Friday - but who could West Ham join if they successfully negotiate tonight's game?
Well first of all, Manchester United. I can't imagine the Europa League is top of Jose Mourinho's priority list but that's where United are this season.
Southampton are in too, Schalke, Ajax, Fiorentina and Dundalk, to name just a few.

You may have missed the big news today that "moist" is the early front-runner in a search to find the most-hated word in the English language.
But what are your favourite and least favourite words in the peculiar lexicon of football?
