  2. 'The performance was not perfect'published at 14:52 British Summer Time 1 October 2016

    Swansea 1-2 Liverpool

More from Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp: "I thought we could have done better in the first half. Our body language was not good, we were static and it was easy to defend against us. We are not as good as we should have been.

"You have to show why we are here. We showed a reaction, were more organised, clear in all situations and we deserved to win.

"Of course I am happy we have had two or three brilliant games in a row.

"If Milner is our top scorer at end of the season with penalties I have no problem with it. All is good. The performance was not perfect but it was good enough today."

  3. 'I don't know if I'll be in a job'published at 14:50 British Summer Time 1 October 2016

    Swansea 1-2 Liverpool

Swansea manager Francesco Guidolin on Sky Sports:

"My team played a very good game. Liverpool is a very strong team. The draw would have been the right result. We played better in the first half and they played better in the second half. We need a good result. The team played a good game. We have to look forward.

"At the end we had a good chance. I prefer to think of our first half. We were aggressive and dynamic. It's important for a manager. Our team is good but we are not in a good moment.

"The players gave me a good answer. Our relationship is good. There is no problem between me and my players.

On his suggestion that he might lose his job if the Swans lost:

"I don't know. It's not my decision. It's just for me to prepare for the game and the team. I know the situation. It's a possibility. The important thing to prepare with patience.

"Before the game I saw the new owners Jason (Levien) and Steve (Kaplan) just to say 'hello'. I don't know if in the next day there's meeting."

François Bruwier: Is Karius a real improvement for this Liverpool team? Not so sure...

Eston Kimaswoch: Its been a tough afternoon for @LFC Fans, Karius is a downgrade of Mignolet, he looked like he been tethered on the goal line

Liam Stones: Too many times #lfc have faded away in games like this but not today! Not under Jurgen will we fold anymore

  5. 'We weren't awake in the first half'published at 14:42 British Summer Time 1 October 2016

    Swansea 1-2 Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp: "We are really happy in this moment. The second half is how the whole game should have been. Our body language wasn't good in the first half.

"I thought the Swansea goal was offside, but it's not important anymore. In the second half we bossed them  - it's how we should have been. We asked more difficult questions in the second half.

"Swansea are a good side. In the first half they played football. Our build-up was static in the first half. we weren't awake so it was easy to defend.

"You need to show every week that you ready to fight for the result. We did it in this game. We have 16 points and an international break. All the players are all over the world and we don't like it.

On Adam Lallana's injury, who went off in the first half: "Lallana has a groin problem and Dejan Lovren too. We will see what they have exactly. Hopefully they'll use the break to recover."

Nick Hughes: Probably the best Swansea performance this season. With Llorente back and a team playing like that, they can turn it around

Bob Moss: Liverpool so much fun to watch, Man Utd please take note, boring the other team to death is not the way to play

Shuvam Sinha: I feel so sorry for Guidolin. A display that didn't deserve a defeat. Borja should feel responsible if his manager gets the axe

First half Liverpool were very poor but then after half-time the real Liverpool turned up.

As for Swansea manager Guidolin, you live and die by the decisions you make.

He brought on Barrow who made the poorest of defensive mistakes for the penalty.

    It is now.

    Questions to be asked:

    • What happens now to Swans boss Francesco Guidolin?
    • Who will Jurgen Klopp hug the tightest?
    • Will it be a two-horse race between the Reds and Man City?

    Oh Swansea! Oh Francesco!

The final fling of hope is wasted by defender Mike van der Hoorn who screws his shot wide from four yards as the ball arrives at his feet.

Is that that for the Swans?

Nearly an own goal. Swansea's Jack Cork almost deflects Emre Can's low cross past his keeper Lukasz Fabianski, but instead the ball arrives safely into the arms of the Pole.

We have a minute plus stoppage.

Liverpool were on top for most of the second half. You thought Swansea had weathered the storm but it was their own doing.

Milner has probably been Liverpool's best player in this second half. If there was one player who deserved the winning goal it was him.

Mark: How light is Firmino if he goes down that easily?

Paul Humphreys: Yet another penalty for Liverpool...

Stacy Phillips: Stonewall penalty. Brilliant penalty from Milner. Guidolin shouldn't lose his job over this. Spirited Swansea performance.

You cannot believe it. Suicidal defending from Swansea.

It was just the smallest of pushes but it was a push.

    James Milner

You can be as "boring" as you want if you slot away penalties  like that.

"Mr.Dependable" James Milner fires his spot-kick hard and straight past Lukasz Fabianski.

Is there any way back for the Swans? This will be seen as one they let slip.
