Arsenal have gone through the group stage unbeaten for the first time since 2005-06 - when they reached the final.

I do think Celtic can be proud of their Champions League campaign.

Yes, they got hammered in the first game at Barcelona but they bounced back to get two draws against Manchester City.

That's something Brendan Rodgers can build on going into next season.

Meer Shah: Another great performance from the lads tonight. Dare I say it, it may finally be coming together for Arsenal again this season.

Aaron Theaker: Why are people saying "it's only Basel" when they've beaten Chelsea, Liverpool and Man United in the last few seasons?

Ankur Goel: Never a doubt. Top of the group.

Never a doubt may be pushing it Ankur...

There will be a football social after tonight's action - and top of the agenda is the state of Scottish football.

How strong - or otherwise - is it? How can it improve? How can Celtic get better in Europe?

It could be game over in Benfica, and done and dusted in Group B to boot.

Dries Mertens has put Napoli 2-0, meaning they will top the group, with hosts Benfica qualifying second.

Besiktas, who held hopes of qualifying before the night's start, now trail 6-0 at Dynamo Kyiv. A hard result to take - and as proof I've just seen a video of their goalkeeper Fabri crying after they shipped their fourth.

Anyone up for a winner at the Etihad? Leroy Sane whistles a free-kick over the wall and wide.

In the meantime you can start compiling your Brendan Rodgers' post-match bingo sheet. 'Character' and 'outstanding' will be in.

PSG will top Group A with a win. They have about seven minutes to score twice and deny Arsenal. And Ludogorets...

  16. GREAT SAVE!published at 21:26 Greenwich Mean Time 6 December 2016

    Manchester City 1-1 Celtic

We've had 25 minutes of stalemate but the game is opening up again as now Celtic pick apart a wonky City backline, sub Gary Mackay-Steven is clean through but Willy Caballero stands up tall and saves well.

    Manchester City 1-1 Celtic

Celtic sub Leigh Grifiths is close to finding a late goal at one end but drags his shot wide before Leroy Sane burns past two men at the other and sees his flashed low cross turned around the post.

Just over 10 minutes to go.

    Seydou Doumbia (78 mins)

Rob Holding taken to school as Basel's substitute powerhouse Seydou Doumbia shrugs him off the ball and lifts a cute finish past David Ospina. Consolation.

Not Olivier Giroud's game, that. Alex Iwobi springs the leaky Basel defence and puts the ball into space for Giroud to run in on goal - but he is eaten up for pace.
