  2. 'Both teams had their moments'published at 14:50 British Summer Time 22 October 2016

    Bournemouth 0-0 Tottenham

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe: "I am more proud of the players today than after winning 6-1 last week against Hull. We went toe-to-toe with an outstanding team and it was a game of real quality. We did not deserve to lose it, we had good moments too. We managed to nullify most of their threat.

"Both teams had their moments. The best chance was probably Benik Afobe at the end. Neither goalkeeper was really overworked though.

"Bournemouth players can play for England if they are good enough. I am not saying the manager HAS to pick them but the players have not done themselves any harm with today's performances.

"I am pleased for Jack Wilshere, he was terrific from start to finish. Lots of unseen work from him and how good he was defensively."

The score could have been anything last week (Bournemouth 6-1 Hull). Hull were abysmal. To lose your first game in charge conceding six goals is not good.

It is absolutely understandable. They will be fine in the Premier League, they were never going to win it again, the top teams have improved and have new managers.

Leicester are quite right to go for the Champions League. If they get another point they have qualified - what a story.

I don't think there are any favourites for the title.

It will be so tight, all the excitement will come at the end of the season. There will be no run away leader.

Tottenham missed out on the chance to go top by drawing at Bournemouth but Arsenal can leapfrog Manchester City into pole position. They need just a point against Middlesbrough at home today.

City don't play until tomorrow lunchtime - at home to Southampton.

    Garth Crooks
Former Spurs striker on Final Score

I've always thought Spurs have the talent but there was no no cutting edge today. If we are going to take them seriously as title contenders, they have got to go to places like Bournemouth and win - not just get a 0-0 draw.

  10. 'If we want to be contenders, we need to win'published at 14:39 British Summer Time 22 October 2016

    Bournemouth 0-0 Tottenham

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino: "It was a very competitive game, they were ready to compete and it was tough. We managed the whole game but if you don't score, it is difficult to win. We fought loads and it is one point more and a clean sheet.

"If we want to be contenders, we need to win games like these.

"They were very aggressive. It was tough with the kick-off early in the morning and we were better after 15 minutes. We did not create enough chances to score but I am pleased. The effort was good.

"We have a very busy schedule and it is a good point looking back on it. We are battling for the top and we missed a opportunity to be in that position."

    Swansea v Watford (15:00 BST)

Former Swansea striker Dean Saunders: "Ashley Williams left Swansea and was not replaced. The two centre-backs are not on the same wavelength and have been at fault for most of the teams goals. Swansea have got to got shipping goals."

Former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson: "I think someone at Swansea should ask Southampton how they have done it. Southampton regularly sell their best players but keep going. Swansea are the complete opposite. The best players are sold and they haven't replaced them."

On Moussa Sissoko elbow incident: "He said afterwards he caught me by accident. He is not that sort of player.

Bournemouth midfielder Jack Wilshere: "We knew we had to match them, they are a great team with quality on the ball. We knew that if we played well under pressure we would do well.

So Tottenham miss the chance to move top of the Premier League - at least for a few hours - as they are held to a goalless draw at Bournemouth.

It was a feisty affair - there were five bookings in the first half - and Jack Wilshere came through unscathed.

The on-loan Arsenal midfielder hadn't completed 90 minutes since 13 September 2014. Over two years ago!
