The referee has let a couple of tackles go. 

If you have refereed Fenerbahce, Galatasaray and Besiktas you are used to this.

Not much action so far in Belfast, with neither side yet to have a shot in anger. 

Raheem Sterling does not like a challenge from Christophe Berra, the referee splits them before it can escalate. Good reffing.

Wayne Rooney whips in the cross and it ends up in the gloves of Craig Gordon. Very 'British' tempo to this one. It's good.

England want this game to calm down, Scotland do not.

Free-kick Scotland, Robert Snodgrass whips in a dangerous ball and Joe Hart comes out to punch it clear. He gets clattered on his way but that's excellent goalkeeping! 

Welcome back to international football, Scott Brown! A thumping, full-blooded tackle from the Celtic man gets Scotland up and running, James Forrest ends up hitting a low shot straight at Joe Hart.

It is interesting to see how both teams have set up and have started.

It has been no nonsense, no risk. There has been a lot of putting your foot through it to get the ball out of dangerous areas. 

That tells you about this game's importance.

First shot of the night comes from Scotland captain Darren Fletcher - he hits a shot on the bounce but shanks it well wide. 

Wayne Rooney looks to be playing fairly deep in midfield for England, as Scotland try and press England high up the pitch.

There are 10 European World Cup qualifiers tonight and the first of them to finish was a belter, as Armenia battled back from two goals down to grab a late 3-2 win over Montenegro.

Gevorg Ghazaryan's long-range strike hit the back of the net with just three seconds remaining in added time to secure Armenia's first points in Group E - and first win in any competitive match since October 2013.

Montenegro had earlier gone ahead through Damir Kojasevic and former Manchester City forward Stevan Jovetic. Artak Grigoryan reduced the deficit and Varazdat Haroyan levelled with his first international goal, before Ghazaryan won it late on.

Further Group E matches between Romania and Poland and Denmark and Kazakhstan are just getting under way.
