For England there is a lot to work on but a lot to be proud of.

It was a feisty fixture and Gareth Southgate can say his players handled the situation very well.

Once the game settled down England did get control. It was not as fluent as we want to be but they got the job done.

There were a couple of stand outs. Sterling, both full-backs and Lallana. Gareth Southgate will be delighted with night's work

No Scot genuinely believed the team could come to Wembley on current form and win. Even a point seemed an unrealistic possibility and so it proved. The Scots battled gamely in the first half but the second goal killed their spirit and with four months until the next qualifier, a long period of teeth-gnashing is inevitable. Where now?

I am quite confused. I am quite proud of Scotland. Their work rate was fantastic.

Scotland had a whole bunch of chances and didn't take any. On another night it would have been much nearer.

3-0 was harsh but it won't make any difference. Gordan Strachan's will be the first name in the newspapers tomorrow as whether he is or isn't the manager.

We've all had plenty of rubbish days as a football fan but if you're a Scotland fan who drove to Wembley, lost 3-0, and now has to drive back across the border with a closed M1, that takes some beating.

Three shots on target, three goals. Scotland may as well have played rush keepers.

It's painful. The team has just surrendered. The white flag has been raised for 20 minutes. England have just been toying with us. Thankfully, it's almost over.

The way England are playing now I thought they would for the entire game but they weren't allowed to do so.

England are toying with Scotland now. There can be no greater humiliation for a Scottish player or fan than to hear the 'oles' ring out around Wembley.

Plenty of empty seats at Wembley now as England just keep the ball for as long as they can. Last few minutes.

Gordon Strachan didn't need a performance tonight. He needed a result. In the end, he's got neither. Can he take us forward to the World Cup? The answer is no, so I think he has to go.

Scotland have given everything in this game and have not capitalised on moments.

Gareth Southgate will look at any positives like Sterling and the full-backs have been very good but apart from that it has been pretty quiet.
