We have our first booking. It's Atletico Madrid's Angel Correa who gets it for a foul.

Hmmm. Unfortunately it seems like that adventurous Granada side we saw in the first half has stayed in the dressing room. They've really dropped back now. It's doing a job of limiting chances, not making for a great spectacle though.

Boos and jeers around the stadium as Bueno goes in strong on Diego Godin. Referee is not interested. In fact, he's yet to issue a yellow card in this game.

Atletico Madrid are caught out by the offside flag again as a ball over the defence is picked up by Angel Correa. It's close, but it looks like he was just off. 

Granada's offside trap is doing the business so far, but you feel they will get caught out eventually.

Guillermo Ochoa's catching ability leaves a lot to be desired and you suspect Atletico Madrid know that as they ping a couple of early crosses into the dangerzone, one of those resulting in Ochoa spilling the ball. He gets away with it though.

Another One Bites The Dust blasts through the speakers as the players emerge from the tunnel for the second half. 

Atletico have won their last three homes games in all competitions. Could Granada be another side about to bite the dust at the Vincente Calderon?

It's been a while since Yannick Carrasco has bagged a brace, three years in fact. He doesn't get many but these two could be important with the teams around Atletico winning.

There's the whistle as Atletico Madrid head into the break with their noses in front. 

A crucial second by Yannick Carrasco that might prove a bit much for Granada to fight back from.

Chance for Atletico Madrid just before the break as Koke whips in a peach of a free-kick from the right. It's behind the Granada defence, but so is Diego Godin. He's flagged offside as he attempts to nod the ball down for Stefan Savic.

This game has not quite been what I had expected so far in that it has been entertaining and evenly contested. Both sides have had chances, Granada are certainly worthy of being level here. Their manager clearly feels they should be ahead as he storms to the edge of his technical area to urge them forward. They're dropping a bit deep and inviting pressure as half time approaches.

Atletico Madrid's appear to have found Granada's soft underbelly and that's the left side of their defence. Juanfran is getting loads of room there and he almost takes full advantage with a ball for Angel Correa, but his shot is saved. Getting closer.

Atletico Madrid are dominating possession but have only managed two shots on goal and none on target. 

That Granada defence is doing a fine job so far.

Atletico Madrid are waking up and are starting to put together a few decent moves now. 

Filipe Luis gets the ball on the left and crosses, it is long but Juanfran picks it up before darting to the edge of the area. He slips a pass for Angel Correa and his shot at the near post is put behind for a corner.

Now Diego Godin gets his head to a ball at the other end of the pitch as he attempts to restore parity following a corner. He heads just wide, though.

Atletico Madrid are looking a little rattled here. To be fair, it must be a strange feeling. It's only the third goal they have conceded this season.
