  1. GREAT SAVE!published at 72 mins

    Barcelona 4-0 Deportivo

German Lux has picked the ball out of his net four times but the Deportivo keeper deserves great credit for a superb stop from Paco Alacarez.

The substitute thought he had scored his first goal for Barca but from Lionel Messi's cross, he sees his header palmed away by Lux at full stretch.

    This is one-way traffic now.

  2. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 68 mins

    Barcelona 4-0 Deportivo

Barca's final change means there will be no hat-trick for Rafinha.

The Brazilian is replaced by Denis Suarez.

That means no run-out for Andres Iniesta before the visit of Manchester City in the Champions League.

I'm sure he doesn't need the practice.

  3. RED CARDpublished at 65 mins

    Barcelona 4-0 Deportivo

Deportivo's afternoon has just got harder.

Captain Laure is sent off to leave his side with 10 men for the last 25 minutes.

Laure holds off Neymar and certainly uses his elbow. Neymar needs no second invitation to hit the deck.

  4. CLOSE!published at 63 mins

    Barcelona 4-0 Deportivo

Gerard Pique should make it 5-0 but heads over from a corner.

This long since ended being a contest with Deportivo offering next to nothing.

Barca will be going second in the table - for now.

Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid both play later.

  5. Postpublished at 60 mins

    Barcelona 4-0 Deportivo

That's goal number nine for the season for Lionel Messi and 14 in 17 appearances against Deportivo.

He might not be finished yet.

    Lionel Messi

Lionel Messi had been on the pitch a matter of minutes when he scores.

Neymar picks him out with a piercing through-ball and Messi does the rest, clipping the ball past German Lux with his first meaningful touch after three games out through injury.

    Sheer class.

  7. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 56 mins

    Barcelona 3-0 Deportivo

Sergio Busquets also gets a rest as he comes off, which means......

    Enter Lionel Messi.

Deportivo also make a change with Ryan Babel coming on.

  8. YELLOW CARDpublished at 54 mins

    Barcelona 3-0 Deportivo

The first booking of the day goes the way of Deportivo defender Pedro Mosquera.

He sees yellow after stopping Neymar in his tracks with a clip of the ankles.

  9. Postpublished at 52 mins

    Barcelona 3-0 Deportivo

Neymar wants to get in on the act but can't hit the target after pinching the ball from team-mate Rafinha and seeing a deflected effort fly over the bar.

I fancy Rafinha will be eyeing a hat-trick goal at some point.

  10. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 49 mins

    Barcelona 3-0 Deportivo

Luis Suarez's work is done for the day as he is replaced by Paco Alcacer at the break.

After his international commitments, Suarez is given a breather and the chance to rest up before facing Manchester City in the Champions League next Wednesday night.

Not so good for City - who I hear have just gone behind at home to Everton.

  11. KICK-OFFpublished at 46 mins

    Barcelona 3-0 Deportivo

Under way again in the second half.

    German Bundesliga

Bayern Munich are being given a fair old battle by 10-man Eintracht Frankfurt. Arjen Robben had given Bayern the lead but Eintracht twice hit back and are on course to secure a point with 10 minutes to go...

It looks like job done for Barca thanks to that flurry before half time.

Two goals from Rafinha and one from Luis Suarez means the second half could be a procession.

Hopefully - from a neutral perspective - Barca turn on the style and make it a spectacle.

Goal difference doesn't count in La Liga, though, which makes the number of goals irrelevant. Strange.

  15. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 45 mins

    Barcelona 3-0 Deportivo

That's nine for the season for Luis Suarez and it's almost double figures.

A minute after scoring, the ex-Liverpool man fires against a post.

Deportivo need the sanctuary of the dressing room.

    Luis Suarez

Luis Suarez will be happy now.

He's looked a bit frustrated but came alive in the penalty area when picked out by Neymar.

One drop of the shoulder and a placed left-footer and it's 3-0 and game over.

    Barcelona 2-0 Deportivo

Remember, Deportivo haven't scored away from home this season.

An ideal chance for Barca, surely, to regain a bit of confidence with a resounding win.

Lionel Messi is sure to come on at some point and he will be looking to add to his 13 goals in 16 games against Deportivo.

It's turning into a good afternoon for Rafinha.

The midfielder has now scored four goals in his last five games.

    Rafinha

A suspicion of off-side but Barca and Rafinha won't be complaining.

Gerard Pique might have been flagged as he won the initial header but wasn't.

German Lux made a fine stop to keep out his effort but Rafinha followed up to tap in.

A long way back for Deportivo already.

Barca force back-to-back corners but do nothing with them.

The champions are comfortable without being anything like back to their best.

    Perhaps they need Messi?
