Fifteen minutes to go then, a few tense faces in the crowd, supporting both sides. It's that sort of night.

Will we get a good game though? These hyped 'big' games are so often dull as dishwater...

Rory: This Chelsea team are on the cusp of history and are a fantastic team, but we could easily have lost to Tottenham and Man City when we played them earlier this season, so there are frailties in this team. If Tottenham are quick on the counter they could expose us.

Amrul Choudhury: Chelsea may win this game off the bench. Options galore with Willian, Fabregas and Batshuayi.

Eamonn McGurk: Dare I say that a few Gooners will be supporting that other lot from North London tonight!

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino speaking to Sky Sports: "Maybe we play the same as Watford, yes. A different formation, a different system but the decisive thing is how we approach the game.

"It is a game that will be tough for both sides. We are both in a very good momentum, they are on a fantastic run.

"We want to win. We will try to win with our skills and tools, but this will be a battle. It is three important points, but Chelsea are in a very good run and are very confident. We expect to fight a lot to try and win the three points."

  5. "We will see on the pitch"published at 19:38 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January 2017

    Chelsea

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte speaking to Sky Sports: "It will be very tough if we want to continue this run. It is important to do a good performance because three points are very important for the table.

"Thirteen wins is a great achievement and we want to continue but we know that Tottenham are a very strong team.

"Looking at their players, I think that they could play with three central defenders – a 3-4-3 – but we will see on the pitch."

F.M: At this point, it isn't about winning the League any more but how many Premier League records Chelsea can break.

Keith Grossmith: I don't believe Chelsea fans are getting carried away, everyone else is! We got carried away becoming 1st London side to win CL.

Michael Umogun: Good coach meet determined quality players. Result : 13 unbeaten run. This team is good period!

A last-day-of-the-season appearance in full kit to lift the trophy and then retire?

  8. 'Title is Chelsea's end goal'published at 19:34 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January 2017

Former England midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

If you play in a game like this there is something that sits deep and dark within you that, as the game is going on, that it is history and you think 'will I ever be in this situation again?'

First and foremost is to get the job done and Chelsea will probably be pleased with a point.

There will be an element of wanting to continue that record, but probably the natural instinct of being a sportsman comes out and winning the title is the end goal.

  9. 'A formidable achievement'published at 19:32 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January 2017

    Henry Winter
Chief Football Writer for the Times on BBC Radio 5 Live

"We shouldn't be snooty about records.

"I wouldn't put this Chelsea team in the top 10 British sides in history but if they win tonight all the chat for the next few days will be comparing them against the very best. It is a formidable achievement."

  14. Chelsea a team transformedpublished at 19:24 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January 2017

    Tottenham v Chelsea (20:00 GMT)

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at White Hart Lane

I was at Emirates Stadium on 24 September when Chelsea lost 3-0 to Arsenal - a loss that left them languishing in eighth place, eight points behind then leaders Manchester City.

Chelsea were so poor, so easily beaten, that they resembled a team facing an uphill struggle to even get near the top four places.

Manager Antonio Conte has since overseen a truly remarkable transformation that sees them in command of the title race and on the brink of Premier League history as they go for a 14th straight win.

Chelsea look the full package - are Spurs the team to make it unravel?

Hashim Rasheed: Too early to compare this Chelsea to the best. Achieved nothing so far, should wait till end of season or next with CL to judge.

Lee: Before we all get too carried away let's not forget that this is the same Chelsea who after losing to Arsenal where labelled a club in crisis. There's still a long way to go in this season.

Nick: Chelsea fans are NOT getting carried away (Al 2012), only the pundits. With toughest match of the season moments away and half season to go our feet are firmly on the ground.

Roberto Martinez's Wigan may have been pioneers, but 2016-17 is the season of the back three. Chelsea have had this remarkable run of success since they went that way, with David Luiz becoming a key cog.

His return to Stamford Bridge was widely mocked in the summer. He could be on his way to a third league title win in a row after two with PSG.

Interesting fact ahead of tonight's game but from now you have to go to 11th March before you get a round of EPL fixtures without 2 of the top 6 playing each other*. Should make for a fascinating few months.* (But the Manchester derby will be postponed if United make the EFL Cup final.)

It was a brilliant, brilliant game too.
