Well, that brings an end to our coverage of today's Championship action.

It was quite the ride, with Norwich and Fulham both hitting five goals, Brighton missing the chance to go top, Leeds winning against Aston Villa... And then the shenanigans at Hillsborough, of course.

I'll be back on Friday for Leeds' trip to Brighton, when the Seagulls will, for a second time, be looking to go top of the table and the Whites will be aiming for a sixth win in seven.

Preston North End had strikers Jermaine Beckford and Eoin Doyle sent off for fighting one another during their 2-1 defeat by Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.

And so the final word of the day should probably belong to their manager Simon Grayson, who wasn't a happy bunny...

Burton Albion moved up to 19th in the Championship by beating Rotherham at the Pirelli Stadium.

Burton manager Nigel Clough: "It was hard going at times, they were very spirited and put us on the back foot. That was as badly as we have started for a while. 

"It was important to get the goal (after 15 minutes) and wear them down and break their spirit. I am disappointed we conceded but it doesn't detract from the three points."

Struggling Blackburn came from behind to draw with play-off contenders Huddersfield.

Blackburn manager Owen Coyle: "It was a different type of performance from what we've had as of late. 

"In terms of the best goalscoring chances they probably came from ourselves. I think it is a valuable point and one that was well earned."

Brentford suffer their fourth loss in a row after being comprehensively beaten at Norwich.

Brentford boss Dean Smith: "I've told the players it's the worst performance I've had as a manager. The players have to look in the mirror. I'll look in the mirror as well.

"But after the third goal I thought a few of us gave up. We have to make sure it doesn't happen again."

Chris Gunter scored an own goal as 10-man Reading were thrashed at Fulham.

Reading boss Jaap Stam: "We knew they were going to be very aggressive and we were prepared.

"But if you’re not switched on, not sharp enough when you have the ball, in your one-on-ones defensively and communication-wise, you make it easier for the opposition."

Ipswich drop to 16th in the Championship after losing 2-0 at Bristol City.

Ipswich boss Mick McCarthy: "The difference between teams was a penalty and a worldie. They started well, but we got to grips to that. 

"It was a penalty. Tammy Abraham reacted quicker than any of our players to the situation

"We were then on top when an unbelievable flying bomb hit the top corner of our net for the second goal. It was absolutely unstoppable."

Derby secured a fifth straight victory as Steve McClaren's side beat struggling Wigan at the DW Stadium.

Derby boss Steve McClaren: "We had a great start and for some reason we kind of took our foot off the pedal when we needed to go up. 

"We knew this would be a difficult place to come and, when we didn't manage to get the second goal, the last 10 to 15 minutes were always going to be a bit nervy."

United are up to fourth in the table.

Another Villa attack breaks down but Leeds can't counter.

They are going long now.

Leeds are enjoying the odd break in stoppage time. Wood again gets the ball in the box, but he can't find a teammate with his pull-back.

Chris Wood comes close to doubling the United lead.

Charlie Taylor finds him at the back post with a deep cross from the left and Wood controls well.

However, his effort is blocked by the defence. Villa survive.
