But, don't worry, we've got an early Christmas cracker on the way for you tomorrow lunchtime.

Fulham rescued a dramatic late draw at Molineux just when Wolves looked to have snatched a last-minute victory.

Manager Slavisa Jokanovic bemoaned his side's inability to kill the game off after they had powered into a 3-1 half-time lead.

Dave Edwards appeared to have won the game for Wolves with a strike from a tight angle in the 90th minute, but Floyd Ayite headed in four minutes into added time.

"We controlled many things and we can score some goals, but we can be more clinical," Jokanovic said.

"We didn't kill the game and we suffered for that. We didn't manage our situation very well especially in the last half an hour.

"I am not thinking about going up or staying in the league. I am thinking how we are going to fix our problems."

  3. Reaction: Wells the man for Terriers boss Wagnerpublished at 19:54 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2016

    Nahki WellsImage source, Empics

Nahki Wells scored the winner against Bristol City to reinvigorate Huddersfield's promotion charge and push them back up to fourth.

Wells benefited from a Frank Fielding error for the winning goal, but was also praised for his work-rate by boss David Wagner.

"I am very happy for Nahki," Wagner said.

"The goal came from a mistake by the goalkeeper, but Nahki chased down the keeper and deserved that.

"Nahki works very hard and he had a role in the first goal when he made a run to open up the space for Elias (Kachunga)."

Rotherham caretaker manager Paul Warne was beaming with pride after his side won their first game in 112 days.

The Millers' drought, going back to August, was ended with a thoroughly deserved 1-0 win over QPR.

Izzy Brown gave the division's bottom club just their second win of the campaign when he converted after a superb one-two with Danny Ward.

"It's a better feeling, winning," Warne said. "For them to win gives me great pride, they left nothing on there, they should be proud of themselves.

"They are buzzing like we have won a cup final. I think you could see at the final whistle how much it meant to everyone.

"I'm sitting next to the chairman at the chairman's ball tonight so that makes my life a little bit easier."

    Alex NeilImage source, Empics

Norwich manager Alex Neil lamented his side's performance in a 2-1 defeat by Barnsley.

The Canaries were beated for the sixth time in seven games as Barnsley secured a first win at Oakwell since 27 August.

"We basically got bullied in the first half," Neil said. "Physically, we didn't compete.

"They're good at what they do and if you don't match it you're going to have a tough time.

"To be fair to them, they thoroughly deserved the win based on their first-half performance.

"It wasn't down to tactics - we just didn't compete well enough, which is hard to accept. In the second half it was roles reversed and I thought we were totally dominant."

    Dwight GayleImage source, Rex Features

Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez admits he is surprised by how many goals striker Dwight Gayle has already scored for his side.

Gayle netted a hat-trick in the 4-0 win against Birmingham City to bring his tally to 16 for the season already.

"If the team is playing well Dwight will score goals," Benitez said.

"He is a great finisher, good movement and he can make the difference.

"I knew he could score goals, but I don't think too much about how many.

"Hopefully he can score every game."

  7. Reaction: Dwight's day as Toon return to toppublished at 19:40 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2016

Newcastle striker Dwight Gayle says his second hat-trick this season for the club was made more significant by the team's return to the top of the Championship.

Gayle, 26, followed up September's Norwich treble with another against Birmingham as the Magpies climbed above Brighton, who went top by beating Leeds on Friday night.

It took his personal tally to 16 and also ended a three-game winless run.

"It's important to get back to winning ways," Gayle told BBC Newcastle. "I set myself a target of 20 at the start of the season.

"Scoring is the best thing for me to help the team pick up three points and to go back up to the top of the table is great for us."

  8. Reaction: Warnock will wait to talk to Bamba after touchline tusslepublished at 19:38 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2016

Neil Warnock said he will read the riot act to Sol Bamba after the defender was sent off for angrily confronting the fourth official - and Warnock himself - in Cardiff's draw at Ipswich.

Bamba reacted badly to a late tackle by Jonathan Douglas before jabbing his finger in the direction of fourth official Charles Breakspear before physically brushing off Warnock's attempts at acting the peacemaker.

The centre-back was shown a red card with 20 minutes left to play.

"I have no complaints about the red card," Warnock said. "I didn't really want to talk to Sol after the game so I will see him tomorrow.

"He just lost his rag, but it was an aggressive attitude and I don't condone Sol's behaviour.

""He is distraught in the dressing room and quite rightly. For me, he is one of the best in the Championship and that was a blemish I haven't seen in his make-up."

    FT: Preston 3-2 Blackburn

Preston defender Tom Clarke on Sky Sports:

"We were disappointed with the result at Sheffield Wednesday.

"We've got a brilliant result tonight for the fans, the bragging rights, and we can push on now with a tough week."

  11. FULL-TIME: Preston 3-2 Blackburnpublished at 19:26 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2016

Preston hold firm to deny Blackburn at the end of a thrilling Lancashire derby.

Simon Grayson's side have responded to the ugly scenes at the end of last weekend's defeat by Sheffield Wednesday in the best possible fashion, climbing into the top-half of the table in the process.

Blackburn remain 21st in the table, outside the relegation places on goal difference alone.

    Preston 3-2 Blackburn

Preston spend more than a minute camped by the corner flag before Blackburn finally win the ball back.

Rovers have one or two more chances at best to try to avoid a fourth defeat in five away games.

  13. Postpublished at 90+3 mins

    Preston 3-2 Blackburn

Preston win a corner and with it a chance to run out a few more vital seconds.

Blackburn haven't created any chances in added time so far, but there are still three more minutes to play.

  14. Postpublished at 90 mins

    Preston 3-2 Blackburn

There will be six minutes of added time.

It's going to seem more like six hours to the home fans at Deepdale. Still hope here for Blackburn.

  15. Postpublished at 89 mins

    Preston 3-2 Blackburn

Preston make a change as they attempt to hang on to this lead, Tommy Spurr replacing Marnick Vermijl for the last couple of minutes plus added time.

Callum Robinson tries to keep the ball in the corner for the hosts. Surely a bit early for that?

  16. Postpublished at 87 mins

    Preston 3-2 Blackburn

I wasn't just trying to build up tension, I promise.

There's a long delay before the free-kick is taken, as the referee sorts out some pushing and shoving in the box.

Ben Marshall eventually steps up to hit it, smashing the ball just over the bar. Close.

  17. Postpublished at 85 mins

    Preston 3-2 Blackburn

The way this game has gone, you wouldn't put it past Blackburn to level again in the last five minutes.

Rovers are pressing forward again now, and Danny Graham wins a free-kick right on the edge of the box...

  18. goal

    GOAL (Robinson)published at 80 mins

    Preston 3-2 Blackburn

    Preston are back in front!

The hosts work it out to the left, where Greg Cunningham works himself a bit of space with a lovely piece of skill to turn inside.

Cunningham picks out Callum Robinson, who sweeps the ball into the bottom corner with his left foot.

  19. Postpublished at 78 mins

    Preston 2-2 Blackburn

Preston do indeed make their first change of the night, Ben Pringle coming on in place of Jordan Hugill.

There's now just 12 minutes plus added time for one of these sides to grab a winner.

I'd be shocked if there's not at least one more goal in this. It's been a terrific game so far.
