    Preston 2-2 Blackburn

That's now five goals in four games for Danny Graham and he has seven for the season.

Preston had been clinging on for some time beforehand. Might manager Simon Grayson now turn to his substitutes for a bit of inspiration?

    Preston 2-2 Blackburn

Blackburn's pressure tells at last, and it's that man Danny Graham once again.

Rovers pass the ball around as Preston sit back ever deeper, and Derrick Williams provides the key touch, sliding an inch-perfect through ball through to Graham.

The big striker doesn't hesitate, swinging his left foot at the ball and guiding it low into the net. Great pass, great finish.

    Preston 2-1 Blackburn

Blackburn are pressing forward in waves now, as first Craig Conway and then Danny Graham have efforts blocked away from goal.

Preston are rattled - Daniel Johnson tries to smash clear, but can only slice the ball out for a throw-in deep in his own territory.

Finally some respite for the hosts, as a Conway cross goes all the way through and behind for a goal-kick.

  4. Reaction: Rowett's men given lesson by 'Premier League' Newcastlepublished at 18:55 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2016

Birmingham manager Gary Rowett admitted his side had to stand back and admire the class of Newcastle United as The Magpies routed them 4-0.

Rowett fully expects Newcastle to book an immediate return to the Premier League.

"Newcastle are very clinical and they hurt you in different ways," he said. "It was a bit of a football lesson, it was also an athletic lesson.

"The top players run and they sprint. Make no bones about it, that is a Premier League team out there we were against in the unbelievable stadium they have.

"I will be astonished if they are not a Premier League team next season."

    Preston 2-1 Blackburn

Lovely passing move from Blackburn almost plays Ben Marshall in with the goal at his mercy.

Greg Cunningham sticks a leg out to guide the ball away, and Marshall hits the deck.

The Blackburn full-back is booked for simulation as a result. It's very, very harsh on him - Cunningham looked to have got the ball first, but there was definite contact with Marshall afterwards.

  6. Emnes on for Blackburnpublished at 57 mins

    Preston 2-1 Blackburn

Owen Coyle has made his first change of the night, bringing Marvin Emnes on for Liam Feeney.

Emnes makes a quick impact, winning his side a corner on the right, but the delivery isn't a good one.

Just over 30 minutes now for the visitors to get back on terms.

Big appeal for a penalty from Blackburn - not given!

Owen Coyle is incandescent on the sideline. The Rovers manager is convinced Cory Evans was dragged down inside Preston's penalty area, but referee Kevin Friend says otherwise.

There was an arm on Evans' shoulder looking at the replay, but the contact was very light. Enough to bring him down? I'm not convinced.

    Preston 2-1 Blackburn

Preston have started the second half very brightly indeed, with Simon Makienok heavily involved.

Makienok finds full-back Marnick Vermijl overlapping down the right, and he in turn picks out Jordan Hugill in the box.

The pass is slightly behind Hugill though, and he can't keep his shot down as he swivels and hits it first time.

Preston get the second half started and they're swiftly on the attack, but a cross towards Jordan Hugill is headed away by the Rovers defence.

No changes for either side at half-time.

    Reading 2-1 Sheffield Wednesday

Reading tightened their grip on third place courtesy of victory against Sheffield Wednesday.

Jaap Stam's side had to wait until midway through the second half to break the deadlock through Roy Beerens' deflected shot.

The Dutchman added a second soon after before Steven Fletcher's header for Wednesday made for a nervy closing few minutes.

"That's the kind of response you're looking for after the game against Fulham (a 5-0 defeat)," Stam told BBC Radio Berkshire.

"We got the first goal with a bit of luck that boosted the confidence and then the second followed from that.

"We knew there would be some sort of a response from then on and it came when they threw on another striker.

"But, the team have worked very hard for the result and it's a compliment to them that they've come through with a win."

  12. Bamba loses it....in a big waypublished at 18:23 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2016

    Ipswich Town 1-1 Cardiff City

Let's take a closer look at the story of the afternoon involving Cardiff's Sol Bamba.

It was all going fairly sedately for Neil Warnock's side and his central defender until Bamba took exception to a tackle which saw him go down injured on 70 minutes at 1-1.

Firstly, he remonstrated with his own physio and then Ipswich's David McGoldrick.

That led to a red card for the former Leeds player, but soon his anger at referee James Adcock's decision spilled on to the touchline and the fourth official.

    But, Bamba wasn't done there.

His manager Warnock then attempted to restrain him and after words were exchanged between the pair, Bamba pushed his manager's arm away.

Remarkably the game remained at 1-1 but Cardiff slip back into the Championship bottom three.

    Preston 2-1 Blackburn

Almost an equaliser for Blackburn on the stroke of half-time.

A long ball forward into the Preston box finds Danny Graham, who guides a diving header towards the far corner.

Preston keeper Chris Maxwell has to reach out to his right at full stretch to claw the ball away and maintain his side's advantage as the whistle blows.

    Preston 2-1 Blackburn

This is a bit more like it from Blackburn, causing a few problems from set-pieces.

Preston are forced to head a free-kick behind for a corner, which results in Charlie Mulgrew guiding a volley wide.

There will be two minutes of added time at the end of the half.

    Preston 2-1 Blackburn

Blackburn haven't created much going forward since that second Preston goal - perhaps a change of shape might be in order after the break.

Sam Gallagher tries to spark his side into life as he darts forward with the ball, but he's stopped by a good challenge on the edge of the Preston box.

Rovers are getting a little more possession at last, with Preston apparently happy to sit on this one-goal lead to half-time.

    Preston 2-1 Blackburn

It took Blackburn just four minutes to get back on level terms after falling behind earlier - what can they muster up in response having conceded for a second time?

Preston are looking the more dangerous side at the moment, with Daniel Johnson drifting a free-kick just over the heads of his team-mates inside the Rovers box.

    Preston 1-1 Blackburn

Preston are keen to get their lead back after conceding it so quickly the first time, with Greg Cunningham testing keeper Jason Steele from long range.

His volley is sweetly struck and it squirms away from Steele as he tries to catch it, but the Rovers shot-stopper dives on it at the second attempt.

At the other end, Blackburn win themselves a corner, which is cleared at the second attempt.
