  1. Postpublished at 26 mins

    Preston 1-1 Blackburn

At last, a chance to settle down again.

The game hadn't been a classic until Daniel Johnson's brilliant opener for Preston, but it's burst into life now after Danny Graham's equalising goal.

That strike is Graham's fourth in four games for Rovers.

  2. goal

    GOAL (Graham)published at 22 mins

    Preston 1-1 Blackburn

Danny Graham steps up to take the penalty for Blackburn... saved!

His effort from the spot is weak, nowhere near the corner of the net and easily saved by Chris Maxwell, but he gets chance to follow up on the rebound - saved again!

Finally, at the third attempt, Graham smashes in with his left foot after Sam Gallagher had a shot blocked. Incredible stuff.

  3. Penalty to Blackburnpublished at 21 mins

    Preston 1-0 Blackburn

Penalty to Blackburn, as clear as can be.

Moments after scoring, Daniel Johnson tries to tackle Sam Gallagher in the box, but doesn't get anywhere near the ball and brings the striker down.

  4. goal

    GOAL (Johnson)published at 18 mins

    Preston 1-0 Blackburn

That is a world-class finish from Daniel Johnson.

Preston work the ball forward to Jordan Hugill inside the box, who lays it back to Johnson.

The midfelder doesn't have to break stride as he wraps his left foot around the ball and strokes it into the corner from 20 yards out. Wonderful strike.

  5. Postpublished at 14 mins

    Preston 0-0 Blackburn

Blackburn aren't keeping hold of the ball all that well, opting to go the direct route more often than not.

The possession split as I write is 70-30 in favour of Preston, but in fairness to Rovers, they haven't really been troubled yet.

  6. Postpublished at 10 mins

    Preston 0-0 Blackburn

Callum Robinson wrestles the ball away from Blackburn full-back Ben Marshall and swings a cross in from the left.

It's a good delivery as well, but Blackburn keeper Jason Steele is swiftly out to punch it clear.

Preston get a shot away, a fierce one from distance from Ben Pearson. A Rovers defender is in the way of it - a good hit, just no real danger.

  7. Postpublished at 7 mins

    Preston 0-0 Blackburn

Excellent build-up work from Preston, which ends with Marnick Vermijl getting forward from right-back to get a cross in from the edge of the box.

The Dutchman gets his delivery horribly wrong though, drilling the ball out into the stands on the other side of the pitch.

  8. Postpublished at 4 mins

    Preston 0-0 Blackburn

No clear chances so far, but both sides have put a cross each into the box which could have caused some trouble.

The pitch looks to be a little on the slippery side - could that be a factor tonight?

  10. KICK-OFFpublished at 1 min

    Preston 0-0 Blackburn

Blackburn Rovers, playing in their full-red kit, get the game under way.

The visitors look to go direct early on, but Preston clear their lines.

Though the recent headlines might not be the ones Preston fans were hoping for, the Lilywhites have had a pretty decent start to the season.

Their recent form hasn't been strong, but they started the day four places higher up the table than they were at this point last season.

The head-to-head record also reads in Preston's favour today, with the hosts having won 24 times to Blackburn's nine on their own turf.

Despite being just one place outside the relegation zone, Blackburn are showing signs of recovery after a difficult start to the season.

Owen Coyle's side have lost just one of their past five games, a run that included a 1-0 victory at league leaders Newcastle.

That result was just their second win on the road this season - another one tonight would lift Rovers up to 18th.

It's fair to say it's probably been a long week for Preston manager Simon Grayson, having seen strikers Jermaine Beckford and Eoin Doyle sent off for fighting with each other in last weekend's defeat by Sheffield Wednesday.

Grayson insists that the incident is behind his side, with both players apologising and the club having refunded fans who traveled to Hillsborough.

If there are any lingering problems, an in-form Blackburn side will be confident of taking advantage.

Plymouth go back to the top of the League Two table with a 2-0 win over former leaders Doncaster, who slip down to third.

Carlisle remain second after a 1-1 draw at play-off chasing Luton, while Blackpool get into the play-off places at this early stage of the season with a 2-0 win at Stevenage.

The biggest winners of the day were Cambridge, who scored five second-half goals to beat Hartlepool 5-0.

Newport were set to climb out of the relegation zone as they led visitors Morecambe 1-0 at half-time, but that game was called off at half-time because of a waterlogged pitch.

It's an 11th straight league defeat for Bury - having led Bristol Rovers 1-0, they slump to a 4-2 defeat, but they do at least remain one place above the relegation zone.

League leaders Scunthorpe scored twice in the final ten minutes at Rochdale, but it wasn't enough to avoid a 3-2 defeat, their first loss in five games in all competitions. Third-placed Sheffield United are now just six points behind after their 4-0 win at home to Swindon.

The best action of the day was at London Road, where hosts Peterborough fought back from 2-1 down to win 5-2 against struggling Chesterfield.

    • Bradford 0-0 Charlton
    • Bristol Rovers 4-2 Bury
    • Fleetwood 2-0 Walsall
    • Millwall 0-1 Shrewsbury
    • Oxford United 1-1 Oldham
    • Peterborough 5-2 Chesterfield
    • Port Vale 2-3 Northampton
    • Rochdale 3-2 Scunthorpe

  19. Championship round-uppublished at 17:08 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2016

If you've just logged on - where have you been?! It's been a thriller in the Championship!

Wolves and Fulham were involved in a 4-4 draw at Molineux - Floyd Ayite scoring a last-second equaliser for the visitors.

Rotherham picked up just their second win of the season with a 1-0 victory over QPR.

Elsewhere, there were wins for Aston Villa, Barnsley and Brentford.

Reading and Huddersfield also strengthened their play-off hopes with victories.

Cardiff's Sol Bamba saw red and then the red mist in their 1-1 draw with Ipswich at Portman Road.

The defender was sent off and proceeded to clash with everyone including his own physio and manager Neil Warnock.
