Liverpool v Plymouth Argyle (13:30 GMT)

No sign of an empty stadium here, the Kop full of voice and flags, the Argyle away end also showing off some finely embroidered flags.

The players emerge, a much-changed Liverpool and a hope-filled Plymouth. Some handshakes, some stretching and now You'll Never Walk Alone....

Arfon Evans: Sad to see a great club like Liverpool disrespecting the FA cup again with 10 changes total lack of respect.

Joe Johnson: There is nothing to be proud about in fielding a young side. It is just more disrespect from managers towards the FA Cup.

James Madison: At West Ham vs Manchester City on Friday, great game but very one sided.

  4. FULL-TIMEpublished at 13:26 Greenwich Mean Time 8 January 2017

    Cardiff City 1-2 Fulham

All over! An impressive showing from Fulham and deserved passage into the round four draw.

Tom Cairney has been in the middle of everything, Lucas Piazon and Ryan Sessegnon have been very good.

But I have to give man of the match to Ryan Fredericks. He created both goals, but he's not just been a creator, he's been superb defensively as well.

I watch plenty of boring games for a living, but this hasn't been one of them. A decent game I reckon. Into the last five though - is there a sting in the Cardiff tale?

Jamie McKenzie: If Pogba is worth the money that Manchester United paid, then Tom Cairney is worth £50million. Cairney should be a Premier League player.

Chris Brooks: I've supported Fulham all my life and I'm 56. This has Cardiff 3 Fulham 2 all over it......

H: A quick reminder. If you CHOOSE to watch a TV football match between 2 teams you don't support, DON'T COMPLAIN THAT IT'S BORING

Plymouth manager Derek Adams speaking to BT Sport:  "As you come in to Anfield you would think it is a cup final and for our fans it is but, for the players, we are here to get a result.

"We have to close the space down for Liverpool but then we have to take the game to Liverpool as well and create chances."

  11. 'Fulham will run the clock out'published at 13:15 Greenwich Mean Time 8 January 2017

    Cardiff 1-2 Fulham

    Iwan Roberts

There is plenty of space to drop the ball in behind the Fulham defence, Cardiff just have to time their runs.

Fulham will just run the clock out now. They could do with a third goal, but hey will just keep possession and won't go chasing a goal.

  12. Postpublished at 83 mins

    Cardiff City 1-2 Fulham

It could, and should, be a cricket score. Yet another lovely move from Fulham ends with Sone Aluko having a drive well saved.

  13. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 82 mins

    Cardiff City 1-2 Fulham

Fulham goalscorer Stefan Johansen, excellent all day, is replaced by Dennis Adeniran.

  14. Postpublished at 78 mins

    Cardiff City 1-2 Fulham

If Cardiff do somehow craft an equaliser in the last 10 minutes, Fulham will kick themselves. Another superb move ends with Lucas Piazon lashing over the top from 15 yards.

    Liverpool v Plymouth (13:30 GMT)

Liverpool are starting with their youngest ever line-up, with the side's average age a tender 21 years and 296 days - and that's with 29-year-old Lucas in the side. Striker Ben Woodburn is 17 and is making his first start for the club having become the club's youngest goalscorer when he came on as a sub and scored against Leeds in the EFL Cup earlier on this season.

  17. CLOSE!published at 73 mins

    Cardiff City 1-2 Fulham

Not there! Cardiff keeper Brian Murphy tries to take an extra touch on the edge of his area and he's robbed by Stefan Johansen, he drills over a low cross, it looks like a tap-in for Lucas Piazon but it's brilliantly cleared from under the Cardiff crossbar.

That was almost the killer third. And, for all their control of the game, Fulham are only one goal ahead.

  18. Postpublished at 71 mins

    Cardiff City 1-2 Fulham

Tom Cairney has been top class today. If anyone wants to take him this month I'd imagine they will need a lorry full of cash.

Ross Ingle: How is this only 2-1 to Fulham? Wake up Cardiff City.

Paul Johnson Tog: Cardiff standing off players and not tackling all game ... woeful.

Adam Sharpe: Fulham are the best passing team and great to watch.Tom Cairney is class.

  20. 'Fulham very impressive'published at 12:59 Greenwich Mean Time 8 January 2017

    Cardiff 1-2 Fulham

    Iwan Roberts
Former Wales striker and BBC pundit

Just look at Fulham's back five when they haven't got possession, back three when they have. They are playing quite a high line.

Fulham are very much going to be a force in the Championship. I have been very impressed with them.
