So does this result - without Diego Costa of course - mean Chelsea will happily part with the man wanted in China?

Seriously impressive stuff so far. They have looked poised, threatening and all while with a gear or two to spare.

They’ve gone ragged and don’t look like a defensive unit. I thought Schmeichel might have done enough to block it, but Pedro had time and space to place it.

Chelsea are slowly, bit by bit, turning the screw and have scored at just the right times.

    Turn out the lights.

What a beautiful goal. Well might Antonio Conte punch the air with both fists.

N'Golo Kante passes to Pedro on the edge of the box and the Spaniard pirouettes to nonchalantly turn the ball into Willian's path with his heel. It's almost a stand-still heel flick, very rare.

Willian beats Kasper Schmeichel to the ball, turning it across the six-yard box via a deflection off the keeper for Pedro to head home.

That flick was right off the Barcelona training ground. Game, set, match. Leicester are cooked.

As a Kasper Schmeichel kick lands we can see Leicester's commitment to attack is clearer as three bodies are around the ball. It's a front three now, Shinji Okazaki left, Ahmed Musa right, Jamie Vardy central.

Antonio Conte bellows at his players, who are still comfortable.

Marcos Alonso is only the third Chelsea defender to score a brace in the Premier League, joining John Terry and Branislav Ivanovic.

He's been bright from the off and solid defensively when called upon.

Jamie Vardy picks the ball up between Chelsea's defence and midfield, he tries to play a pass in behind Marcos Alonso who slides in well to intercept, preventing Ahmed Musa a one-on-one chance.

Schmeichel wasn't too sure if that Alonso effort was sneaking in or not.

He's hit it almost perfectly but it's swerved at the last minute.

What a way that would've been to bring up your hat-trick - and for a wing-back.

  10. CLOSE!published at 64 mins

    Leicester 0-2 Chelsea

You will struggle to get closer to a hat-trick. Marcos Alonso waits for Victor Moses' cross to come out of the night sky and without a bounce he volleys it... crisp... inches wide. That strike was so sweet, he had swerve on it and it shaped a fraction wide.

Marcos Alonso on the ball, left-hand channel some 35 yards out.

"Shoooottt", comes the call from the away end. He turns down the chance to bang for a hat-trick and crosses.

Chelsea win a corner, not too many bodies committed to the area. The delivery deflects and loops into the air.. what's this? An overhead kick from Gary Cahill... blocked by Wes Morgan.

Not quite as graceful as Andy Carroll's earlier but it was on target.

I'm not sure what system Leicester are playing now and I'm not sure the players know either.

Is Ranieri going to a back four or staying with three?

It's funny what you can and can't get away with in the game.

Marc Albrighton has apologised there because he knows he's dived but just about got away with it.

Marc Albrighton knows he's about to enter into a 50-50 in the box and hence when he gets a touch he goes down. He's looking for a penalty but there's no contact and Albrighton gets up quickly. A dive, but not blatant, he was probably expecting some contact and hence already on his way over.

For me, Leicester are just allowing too much space. The pitch looks massive, perhaps because the home side do not pressure the ball when Chelsea have it. Chelsea are in fourth gear, maybe even third, yet it's enough.

They can turn the engine down now, game over.

Elation from Chelsea and in particular Marcos Alonso.

It's another hammer blow to Leicester and similar to the first goal in some ways.

The ball into the box is not dealt with properly and it drops too easily to Alonso on the edge of the area. His strike deflects off Wes Morgan on the way in.
