    Marcos Alonso

    Copy. Paste.

Leicester start slow. Chelsea do not. Marcos Alonso scores.

    Deja vu.

The free-kick, so poorly conceded by Christian Fuchs, is headed partially clear but Marcos Alonso takes a touch as keeps his strike low. It pings off Wes Morgan and Danny Drinkwater, and Kasper Schmeichel can only get a hand to it as the ball nestles in the corner.

Claudio Ranieri must be livid. His side caught cold twice on the night.

  2. YELLOW CARDpublished at 49 mins

    Leicester 0-1 Chelsea

I can't see any changes of meaning - personnel or tactical.

Willian has the ball and wriggles out of the corner like only a Brazilian can, Christian Fuchs has to foul him and that's a yellow. He was tied up like a joint of beef.

A slow start by the home side again and Willian wants a pop from range. Robert Huth soaks up a block, as Robert Huth does.

  4. 'Chelsea love leading 1-0'published at 18:35 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January 2017

    Leicester 0-1 Chelsea

    Matt Elliott
Former Leicester City captain for BBC Radio Leicester

Leicester ended the first half well but Chelsea are very confident in these situations - a 1-0 lead to them is very precious.

They'll happily take this until Leicester maybe over-commit to try and get level and Chelsea can pick them off to score again.

  5. 'Costa will surely be back'published at 18:33 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January 2017

    Leicester 0-1 Chelsea

    Martin Keown
Former Arsenal defender on Final Score

I don't understand how such a big argument has come out - couldn't they have kept it in-house?

I think this will go away by next week - Costa surely has to be back in, you can't be without a player of that quality.

  6. KICK-OFFpublished at 46 mins

    Leicester 0-1 Chelsea

This would be a great result. Against the backdrop of all things Diego Costa, a ruthless win and clean sheet would surely underline Chelsea's intent. Leicester have 45 minutes to change things.

Half-time snack of the day goes to Tom Hughes. It sounds like a lot of people are on the gin tonight. Broken Britain.

"If he wants to spend 18 hours a day bored in China good luck to him," said Lawrenson.

Dark chocolate topping a brownie? I think not Andy. That said, mixing it with gin and tonic makes you sound like something of a connoisseur.

Right then, it seems some of you want to trump my half-time brownie.

Tim Sherwood - probably not the real one - has a decent snack in the pocket of his gilet.

Can anyone raise either of us? I still think I'm ahead.

  13. 'Soft goal but well-poised'published at 18:19 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January 2017

    Leicester 0-1 Chelsea

    Matt Elliott
Former Leicester City captain for BBC Radio Leicester

It's a well-poised game - Leicester will be disappointed to concede the way they did with Alonso afforded so much time and space.

It was a soft goal even though it came after a long period of possession from Chelsea.

Other than that, Leicester are looking good with a nice balance to the team - using a back three hasn't been a disaster, like it was last time.

Things could turn around very quickly after the break.

    Leicester 0-1 Chelsea

    Even stuff.

It didn't look like it would be early on with Chelsea dominant. A credible response from the champions, you just wonder if they will lack cutting edge.

We will have one added minute. Jamie Vardy and Marcos Alonso exchange a few words. Not pleasant, not important either as play rolls on.

  17. Postpublished at 43 mins

Chelsea free-kick, 35 yards out. David Luiz takes it as the wall is set but he's spotted Eden Hazard in space. Hazard taps the pass first-time into Pedro's path, half chance... over.

Inventive stuff. Speed of thought aplenty.

Pedro leads a Chelsea break but he's entirely on his own and is forced to run with the ball until a foul comes his way. He wants to be clipped and is by Danny Drinkwater... cheers Danny.

We can see how Leicester have grown into this, sharing territorial activity despite having less possession.

Early on those figures looked much more in Chelsea's favour.

  20. 'No relegation fears for Foxes'published at 18:12 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January 2017

    Leicester 0-1 Chelsea

    Matt Elliott

This is not the performance of a team remotely worried about relegation.

Leicester are competent and fully capable of taking on a team of Chelsea's quality.

The scoreline aside, the hosts are looking good.
