If you recall the game at Anfield, it was classic Mourinho - glass half-empty, and now it is glass half full. Carrick coming into the team has changed things, he’s allowed Pogba to raid forward, and United look a 50 percent different team to October. I think he (Pogba) is brilliant with the younger players, he is always telling them to keep trying.

It was a very bizarre position to alienate and push Joe Hart out. Everyone talks about his footwork but the main thing is the shot stopping. It's job number one.

The most important thing Hart could do was keep the ball out the net.

Claudio Bravo is not the tallest. They don't really have one outstanding keeper at the moment. Shamefully, because of Guardiola, Hart was pushed out.

The whole mood has changed at Manchester United. Paul Pogba as a free spirit, you see that in his personality, he loves it.

It is the habit of behaviour from Zlatan Ibrahimovic as a senior player, he is serial winner of trophies. Pogba is the same.

Man Utd v Liverpool (16:00 GMT)

    Jermaine Jenas

Manchester United are favourites and rightly so. Jose Mourinho seems to have found the right formula on the pitch. Mourinho has gone from not knowing what his best XI is to fielding a team with an ability to knock out wins

United have been on this good run but the only top team they have come up against recently is Spurs. I don’t feel they've had that real test of games.

  6. 'A great feeling'published at 15:35 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2017

    Everton 4-0 Man City

Everton's teenager goalscorers have faced the media, first to speak is Tom Davies.

He is immediately asked if he is claiming that goal, with Romelu Lukaku appearing to get a touch on the line.

"That is definitely mine," he said. "It is unbelievable. I got a chance and managed to take it. I am really happy that Ross Barkley spotted me. To beat City and do it comfortably is a great feeling."

Ademola Lookman added: "The gaffer said I should play behind Romelu Lukaku and I was lucky to anticipate the ball."

Not much of a talker is young Lookman, but who can blame him. Must be difficult to take it all in.

It's unlikely that Jose Mourinho's call for more noise at Old Trafford will go ignored - when Liverpool arrive at Old Trafford an old-fashioned atmosphere is guaranteed.

The intense rivalry between the two cities, which arguably has its roots in the difficult birth of the Manchester Ship Canal, has been embodied in culture, music and - most tangibly of all - in football for over a century.

It's a fixture that can become the stuff of folklore. Score a dramatic winner and your name might be consecrated in terrace songs for decades.

Enter that arch-Scouser and enemy of Anfield, Wayne Rooney. The one-time Croxteth kid stands poised to outscore the revered Knight of the Realm and King of Old Trafford, Bobby Charlton. What better opposition? What better script?

He will have to come off the bench to do it though.

    Robbie Savage

It's a great credit to Everton. Let's talk about how great the Tom Davies goal was.

If Messi or Ronaldo had done that bit of skill in the build-up, people would be talking about that for years.

City have shown again they cannot defend. Will Pep Guardiola change? Sometimes you have to change.

    Everton 4-0 Man City

    Kevin Kilbane

It looks like the title challenge is beyond City now. David Silva kept coming deeper for the ball, he was almost within five yards of Yaya Toure at times.

It’s been a tremendous Everton performance. That goal by Mirallas, at the start of the second half, knocked everything out of City. What a dream for Lookman. He’s looked lively since coming on. There was little for him to hit, he’s gone for power and it’s gone through Bravo.

    Wow!

This is the stuff dreams are made of. Ademola Lookman, minutes into his Everton debut, sweeps home from a tight angle with his first touch, sending a shot through Claudio Bravo's legs.

The former Charlton teenager looks ecstatic as he wheels away in celebration. He can't believe what has just happened. Manchester City fans can't believe what has just happened.

Alexander Green: Everton do have a knack for buying and producing young English talent, don't they?

Peter White: Pep's timeline: three weeks into season: genius. Three weeks ago: snake oil salesman. Last week: genius. This week: fraud.  Calm down everyone.

Ally Wilkinson: Lukaku is dead to me if he tries to claim that Tom Davies goal!

Tom Wrathmell: Hope Damien Johnson isn't on duty for Match of the Day at Goodison today. Otherwise 'Pep Talk' Part II could be awkward...

If you don't know the story, Johnson encountered an awkward post-match chat with Guardiola after City beat Burnley 2-1 on 2 January. It was all smoothed over afterwards, though.
