Atletico are camped inside their own half. They just cannot get out.

When they get forward, there is no outlet because all the players are in defensive positions. 

This is the Champions League semi-final - Griezmann hasn't played in as many matches of this ilk as Ronaldo and you can tell. Griezmann has just not shown up.

Zinedine Zidane, a man who projects calm, until he flips and headbutts your or stamps on you, has his hands in his suit pockets at the moment. 

Angel Correa hasn't scored in 21 games. Now's the time to hit the dealer for one more.

Diego Simeone may well be playing stick or twist himself. End the night at 1-1 and it's a belter of an evening. Go 2-0 down and you're cursing your ambition. 

Atleti have also made a change - their final one - as Yannick Carrasco is replaced by Angel Correa. 

Real youngster Marco Asensio, excellent off the bench in both legs v Bayern, gets 25 minutes to run at this Atletico side.

Perhaps sensibly, it's Isco who comes off.

Plenty of card waving going on. First, Sergio Ramos wants a yellow for Antoine Griezmann after what I thought was a good tackle from the Frenchman, and then Isco - already booked - is late as Koke clears his lines.

The Atleti bench, with some justification, want a red card. Martin Atkinson, to centre stage.

Atletico have had 10% more possession and have a 10% better passing accuracy in the second half. They need every marginal gain they can get.

That's the first bit of pressure Atletico have made all game. That is better - they need to keep on pressing higher up the field.

Real sub Nacho shows that he has plenty of pace as he covers across to stop Yannick Carrasco from breaking clear down the left. That was a promising attack for Atleti, with Antoine Griezmann then whipping in a fine cross from the left. He needs to get into the game.

Koke then shoots well wide. 

This is pretty bold, pretty early in the tie. Atletico send on Fernando Torres and Nicolas Gaitan for Kevin Gameiro and Saul.

Torres has a handy record against Real. 

Just not working for the visitors as an attacking threat. They've had one decent sight of goal in getting on for an hour.

Real have had 12 attempts.

Atletico Madrid have not been able to sustain any amount of possession because every time they get the ball, they give sloppy passes away or Real Madrid press them in midfield.

I love watching Zidane and Simeone on the touchline. 

Simeone is more like Antonio Conte waving his arms around but Zidane is much more of a calming influence on his team.
