    West Brom 0-0 Sunderland

Sunderland under a bit of pressure in the early stages at the Hawthorns as West Brom have a couple of efforts on goal.

First, Nacer Chadli's strike is deflected wide by Papy Djilobodji waiting before Chris Brunt shoots over.

David Moyes is up on the edge of his technical area. Tense times for the former Manchester United boss.

    Bournemouth 0-0 Watford

Early drama as Troy Deeney's boot becomes dislodged from his foot.

Otherwise, a quiet opening at the Vitality.

  3. CLOSE!published at 15:04 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2017

    Middlesbrough 0-0 West Ham

Early chance for West Ham as Aaron Cresswell sends a cross into the middle of the box, but Michael Antonio can't reach the ball. It was crying out for an Andy Carroll-esque scissor kick.

    Stoke 0-0 Man Utd

It looks proper parky at Stoke today. Plenty of bobble hats and duvet-like coats in the crowd, yet Peter Crouch is wearing short sleeves. A modern-day hero.

His team-mate Marco Arnautovic is pacing it up the left wing and tries to cut the ball inside the box but it's cleared by Chris Smalling.

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Everton

How Sam Allardyce could do with a win today. He's managed a solitary point from his four games in charge so far and it's perhaps of little surprise he has sent his Crystal Palace players out with the instruction to attack early. They do just that and win a free kick some 25 yards from goal, Yohan Cabaye swings it in but Everton head away.

Forget the FA Cup win over Bolton, Crystal Palace are in dire trouble.

The arrival of Sam Allardyce hasn't brought a new manager 'bounce effect'. One league win in 15 is alarming. Twenty seven points from their last 38 league games is clear relegation form.

Their run-in is sinister too, facing the top five clubs in their final nine matches.

Everton were brilliant against Manchester City. Romelu Lukaku keeps scoring and has a good record against Palace. Teenager Tom Davies was scintillating.

Ronald Koeman's kids can be a growing force. Their energy will be difficult for Palace to contain. Without Zaha, this will be another difficult day for the Eagles.

We are seeing a Mourinho team develop out of this squad at Manchester United.

They have a style of play and are not conceding goals.

Manchester United will aim to extend their unbeaten run to 17 games, but it's four seasons since they last won in the league at Stoke.

United were left frustrated when the sides met earlier this season, when a rare mistake by David de Gea helped Joe Allen snatch a late equaliser.

That point lifted Mark Hughes's team off the bottom at the time, but they've improved considerably since, as have United, who haven't lost in the league for three months.

There are two potential goalscoring landmarks to look out for; Wayne Rooney needs one more to become United's outright record goalscorer, while Peter Crouch is one shy of a century of Premier League goals.

There are nine Championship games at 15:00 GMT, and 19 matches in League One and League Two.

There are fan protests planned at Nottingham Forest, while Newcastle can reclaim top spot in England's second tier with victory at home to Rotherham.

  11. Transfer window trouble for Moyespublished at 14:51 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2017

Last January, Sunderland effectively saved themselves in the transfer window. Under Sam Allardyce they invested in Lamine Kone, Jan Kirchhoff and Wahbi Khazri, who all played a significant part in the club's escape..

I am taking nothing away from Allardyce's achievement by saying that I reckon David Moyes could do just as well given the same opportunity to bolster his squad. But it seems that Sunderland are either unwilling, or unable, to support Moyes in the same way.

The consequences are likely to be serious - particularly with three players on Africa Cup of Nations duty and a host of others injured.

Moyes can surely only look on enviously as West Brom lavish in the luxury of eighth place and get their chequebook out.

A boost for Sunderland in their battle against relegation with Victor Anichebe back from injury. He is on the bench against his former side today.

  13. Berahino saga tough for club and playerpublished at 14:50 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2017

Stoke v Manchester United (15:00 GMT)

    Mark Schwarzer
Former Middlesbrough and Fulham goalkeeper on Football Focus

It is interesting that Berahino has said he is still not match fit. His head has been all over the place.

It must have been tough for the club and player. Hopefully he can put that behind him and add that pace and quality to Stoke.

Stoke City v Man Utd (15:00 GMT)

It's a transfer saga which has had more twists and turns than the Strictly final.

But now, finally, Saido Berahino has made his way out of West Brom to sign for Stoke.

The 23-year-old striker's currently being presented on the pitch in front of the Potters fans, while doing the traditional shirt-holding for the cameras.

He does a little walk around, with plenty of smiles, handshakes and selfies with the home crowd, while Sweet Child O Mine plays over the tannoy.

Sixteenth in the table and four points clear of safety, Middlesbrough would definitely settle for that on the last day of the season. However, some improvement between now and May would be welcomed.

Aitor Karanka's team have conceded fewer goals than the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City but they're the lowest scorers in the Premier League so it's easy to identify their chief problem.

Resolving it is much harder. If Patrick Bamford can rediscover his form when with the club in the Championship, he'll prove a bargain.

While the Dimitri Payet saga rumbles along, Andy Carroll has inspired the Hammers' recent improvement. On a day when chances will be scarce, he might be writing the headlines again rather than the want-away Frenchman.

Alex Haworth: I think Klopp sides need a winter break. The intense style of play can't be sustained all season in my opinion.

Ade: Worth pointing out Liverpool have taken 3 points from 18 against Southampton West Ham Sunderland Swansea and Bournemouth and Burnley. Difference maker.

Ethan Carter IV: Ahh, so plenty of possession is not the way to win the Premier League these days... back to the drawing board

  17. No Plan B for Liverpoolpublished at 14:41 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2017

    Liverpool 2-3 Swansea

    Chris Waddle
Ex-England winger, BBC Radio 5 live at Anfield

Here's Chris Waddle's take on Swansea's victory at Anfield...

Klopp's style of football is great on the eye. He plays high energy football but Liverpool have had a lot of games recently.

The way he plays, it is demanding on the legs.

Today, Coutinho was not 100% fit, Firmino scored two good goals but struggled to get in the game for the most of it, Lallana - some nice touches but no end product.

When these players aren't firing where is the Plan B? Defensively Liverpool are always suspect.

You can't concede three goals at home to the team bottom of the league and expect to win the title.

These two were promoted together in 2014/-15 after a close battle in the Championship. Bournemouth beat Watford to the title by just one point.

Eddie Howe's team were as high as eighth in the table last month, but he must be concerned about a leaky defence that has let in three goals in seven of their last nine league games. They also conceded three to League One Millwall in the FA Cup.

Watford began this campaign on their best run of top-flight form since the heady days of Graham Taylor, but just two goals in their last six games has left them six points worse off than this stage last season.

Stoke are unchanged from the side that won 3-1 at Sunderland last weekend. New signing Saido Berahino, who has admitted he's not match-fit, is not involved.

Manchester United, who have two cup games before Stoke next play in the league, make four changes to the side that drew 1-1 with Liverpool.

In come Chris Smalling, Daley Blind, Juan Mata and, most interestingly, Marouane Fellaini. Matteo Darmian, Marcus Rojo, Anthony Martial and Micheal Carrick all sit out.
