After losing all three Premier League meetings with City by four-goal margins, it's fair to say the home fans are not overburdened by optimism tonight. Even the young and impressionable ones.

The PA announcer has just asked tonight's two young mascots for a score prediction. City's mascot (who hails from Worksop) confidently predicts a 1-0 away win. His Bournemouth counterpart immediately replies "I'd take a draw".

The players are in the tunnel. Gabriel Jesus goes down the line shaking hands with every one of his team-mates.

It is cold outside but he hasn't got gloves on. I like this kid.

Bob Horton: Starting Jesus makes tactical sense: he is in form (3 goals in last 3 starts) whereas Aguero is not (1 in 5)

AbhieSpeaks: If Zlatan quits come summer, I, a MUFC fan would happily take Aguero. He is a class act. Undoubtedly league's best ST.

  5. City to have too much for Cherries?published at 19:50 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2017

Swansea made life difficult for Manchester City but I think Pep Guardiola's side will have an easier time of it on the south coast.

The Cherries are conceding goals for fun at the moment - 16 in their past five league games - and they are always going to be open because of the way they try to play.

My prediction? 2-0 to Manchester City.

There's a touch of Norwich City about City's warm-up shirts - bright canary yellow, with green(ish) sleeves. Yaya Toure looks to be feeling the cold more than most - he's one of half-a-dozen visiting players wearing gloves, but the only one to have donned an MCFC-branded blue woolly hat as well.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth's Harry Arter - likely to be in direct opposition to Toure in central midfield - is the only man on the entire field warming up in a short-sleeved shirt. An omen?

Something could happen to Pep Guardiola that has never happened in his career before.

If Manchester City lose, it will add to defeats against Tottenham, Chelsea, Leicester City, Liverpool and Everton this season.

Guardiola has never lost six games in a single campaign before.

Bournemouth v Manchester City (20:00 GMT)

Man City boss Pep Guardiola speaking on Sky Sports: "We came here to tryand win the game. I have a really good opinion of Bournemouth. They are so aggressive, so offensive - the wingers are so fast and they want to play.

"Josh King is a top striker. They want to play, they use long balls but they also want to play. It will be a tough 90-95 minutes. We know about their team and their values but our approach is good and we can make a good game."

Guardiola has admired Wilshere ever since Arsenal played Barcelona in the Champions League back in 2011

Pep Guardiola could be paying particular attention to one Bournemouth player tonight.

The City boss is a big fan of Jack Wilshere, who is on loan from Arsenal.

“I remember in Barcelona and that year we played Arsenal,” Guardiola said yesterday. “He left a massive impression when he came. A high, high level.

“He’s lucky to play regularly for one season and he is going to be back to being one of the best midfield players in England by far. He’s quality, he’s smart and has the quality on the ball."

Fancy Wilshere at the Etihad, City fans?

It is a big call and a slap in the face for Sergio Aguero. He is a sensational player. It just looks like he will be off at the end of the season.

You have to be impressed with Gabriel Jesus and the impact he has made in a short space of time.

How is Aguero going to react to this? A player who has done so much in his career, he is not going to be happy. Will he give 100% if he gets on the pitch?

Ronen Weinstein: Jesus to be quiet tonight, Aguero to come on and score in the second half. 2 2 FT result.

EFC JON: Here we go again. Build Gabriel Jesus to be the greatest. Happens every few months and they disappoint. Remember Jo?

Paul Leonard: What is Pep playing at? He should be playing Jesus on right-wing and Aguero upfront. 3 games on the bench NOT the way to treat the club's top scorer over the past 6yrs ..

Pep has now found his coat and he pulls it a little tighter around him as a bracing wind blows through the Vitality Stadium while he checks out the pitch. To say it's a chilly one tonight is an understatement. I guess this is when we found out if Jesus can do it on a could Monday night in Bournemouth.

Exactly two months ago, Bournemouth beat champions Leicester 1-0 here under the lights to reach the giddy heights of eighth place.

Since then, the Cherries have played nine games and only kept one clean sheet. They've shipped two goals twice, three goals five times, and a whopping six at Everton last Saturday.

With injuries, suspensions and the recall of loanee Nathan Ake having forced boss Eddie Howe to chop and change his defence nearly every game in that spell, he will be heartened to have his first-choice back four - Adam Smith, Simon Francis, Steve Cook and Charlie Daniels - all present for the first time in 2017.

    Bournemouth

Three changes for Bournemouth after shipping six at Everton last weekend. Adam Smith, Jordon Ibe and Charlie Daniels come in, as Tyrone Mings, Dan Gosling and Marc Pugh miss out.

Bournemouth XI: Boruc, Smith, Francis, Cook, Daniels, Arter, Surman, Fraser, Wilshere, Ibe, King.

    Manchester City

No Sergio Aguero for Manchester City again, the Argentine has to be content with a place on the bench. Bacary Sagna in for Gael Clichy is the only change after beating Swansea last Sunday.

City XI: Caballero, Sagna, Kolarov, Stones, Fernandinho, Toure, Sterling, Silva, De Bruyne, Sane, Jesus.
