Mauricio Pochettino is one of the best managers out there, this is his second successful season at Tottenham. Other options for Barcelona are Atletico Madrid's Diego Simeone and Sevilla's Jorge Sampaoli has done well at Sevilla, but Pochettino needs to set something up in the longer term for Spurs.
He has a youthful English side, a new stadium coming up and good staff around him. He can mould the players into what he want. The training is hard and they appreciate that. Pochettino has done good job, he gets mentioned because of the team he has produced.
A lot depends on how Ronald Koeman sees the Everton project. He is a great name at Barcelona and will be a popular choice. He left Southampton rather quickly and in a strange way, I just feel when Everton tempted him, he will be more tempted by Barca.
Tottenham 0-0 Everton
Tottenham have been incredibly miserly in defence at home so far in 2017 with just the one goal conceded.
That's not deterring Everton as they go on the offensive straight from the off as Chris Coleman crosses from the right. It's over everyone and runs through to Leighton Baines and he attempts to put Tom Davies in on the left but overhits his pass and the ball runs out of play.
Tottenham 0-0 Everton

The two teams are out on the pitch, meaning kick off is mere moments away.
Can Tottenham keep their unbeaten home run going against an Everton side that has not lost in the league since mid-December?

Could one of the managers in the dugout today be managing Barcelona next season? Both Mauricio Pochettino and Ronald Koeman have been linked. I suppose this game could act as an audition of sorts.

The players have disappeared into the dressing rooms as the sun beams down on White Hart Lane. A glorious day in London, hopefully the football matches the weather.

Everton’s midfield look a bit cautious and Morgan Schneiderlin, Idrissa Gueye and Gareth Barry all playing.
This mean Ross Barkley will be key today. If he gets space, he will cause problems and they have Romelu Lukaku in goalscoring form.

Everton are a good side, you can make a case for them to have a good run at making the Champions League but when I watch the top six at their best, I don't think Everton are there yet.
A lot of things have to go Everton's way to get into the top four. I can't see them breaking that. Manchester United are top of the form table over the last 10 games and it can't get any worse for Liverpool. They will figure it out and they are a better side than Everton.

Shed a tear, Tottenham fans because it would appear that a Saturday afternoon trip to White Hart Lane is no more.
Spurs have not played a home league game at the traditional time since 3 December, and the latest round of fixture rearrangements, announced earlier this week, mean all of Tottenham's home matches in March and April have been moved to television slots.
Spurs are due to leave White Hart Lane at the end of the season to enable the development of a new £700m stadium on adjacent land to continue. They will play their home games at Wembley next season.

This is the game that can put Everton's season to the test. What do their fans believe they can achieve? It's perfect for Ronald Koeman. His team are playing with a lot of confidence but they are coming up against a formidable Spurs side. They will learn a lot.

Two in-form teams meet with their two in-form strikers.
Tottenham have to keep winning, and that's exactly what they have been doing at White Hart Lane.
They are the only team with an unbeaten home record in the Premier League, and it has given them a fantastic foundation to achieve successive top-four finishes.
With Harry Kane in the right form at the right time, the challenge for Everton is there for all to see.
Romelu Lukaku, though, has helped the Merseysiders stretch their unbeaten run to nine league games and has found the sort of consistency that Ronald Koeman had previously demanded., external
They have to maintain their performance levels to have a chance of breaking into the top six.

Here's the two teams in full for today's first Premier League game.
Tottenham name the same starting XI that defeated Stoke 4-0 last weekend.
Spurs keeper Hugo Lloris makes his 200th appearance for the club.
Everton make just one change from the side that defeated Sunderland 2-0, with 36-year-old midfielder Gareth Barry coming in for 19-year-old Ademola Lookman.

Mark Schwarzer

It's not Craig Shakespeare's fault that Claudio Ranieri has been released from his duties. He has been there a number of years and feels he is up for the job and he has turned it around in two performances.
Why not give him the opportunity until the end of the season? Unless they have someone in mind and already lined up, why not?

It's so tough to choose. Harry Kane is playing in a top Tottenham side and has done since day one. Romelu Lukaku has been at West Brom and put in an unbelievable performance there, and then at Everton he has consistently scored goals in a mediocre side, with respect.
Playing with lesser players will give you fewer chances. You would think Kane will go on to do it more consistently. The one thing he has that Lukaku hasn't is balamce in his game. He can score on both sides, scores all types of goals. Lukaku is heavily left footed. He lacks consistency but that's the only thing you can criticise.
He could go on to be one of the best in the world, his numbers are scary for a 23-year-old.
