A break in play as Victor Wanyama is down injured. He receives a bit of treatment, pulls up his socks and jogs to the edge of the pitch before returning. Right as rain.

    Tottenham 1-0 Everton

Could Tottenham really catch Chelsea? Win this and they are seven points behind and have momentum.

Five minutes into the second half and Tottenham look comfortable. Ronald Koeman may be looking to his bench soon.

    Tottenham 1-0 Everton

Neither Ben Davies or Seamus Coleman leave an inch as they charge in for a 50-50, both collide and go crashing to the floor. Obviously looked worse than it was as both get up without so much as a wince.

  7. KICK-OFFpublished at 46 mins

    Tottenham 1-0 Everton

Everton have failed to win all 11 previous Premier League games against Tottenham in which they’ve been losing at half-time. Can they buck the trend?

    Back under way.

Everton players out first, Tottenham players stroll out a minute or two later. Doesn't look like there's going to be any immediate changes for both sides.

Sam Thom‏: Spurs look immense on the attack so quick on the break and playing great football.

Nick Hughes: Everton could do with bringing on Lookman. Alongside or behind Lukaku who is in double coverage at the moment for extra an option.

Just the one touch inside the Tottenham box for Romelu Lukaku (right graphic) compared to three for Harry Kane in the Everton box (right graphic).

Perhaps more telling though, is that all but two of Lukaku's touches of the ball have come close to the centre circle or wide left. It seems like he is having to drop back too much to be effective in the final third.

Ex-QPR striker for BBC Radio London

A wonderful goal from Harry Kane. I said it was going to need something special to break the deadlock and it was exactly that. A super first half to watch.

Spurs cannot come off the accelerator, Everton have not caused too much problems but they have dangerous players. Romelu Lukaku has not had any service yet.

Everton will be happy to just be a goal down, a big second half coming up.

Half time approaching and you have to say Tottenham look pretty comfortable. Not a shot on target yet for Everton.

    This settles it...

Brett Mills: Who cares if Kane is world class or not, who cares if Lukaku is either? Can't we just enjoy two forwards having a duel today?

It's so congested in that midfield but it's Tottenham who are winning the battle there at the moment. It's forcing Everton to attempt to bypass it with somewhat hopeful long balls and Romelu Lukaku is struggling for service.

Tottenham are pushing for a second before the break as Christian Eriksen attempts to find Harry Kane with a knockdown from Ben Davies' cross but gets too much power behind it and heads wide.

Tottenham are winning on the pitch and on the touchline. Mauricio Pochettino's coat and scarf combo out styling Ronald Koeman's dull grey cardy.

After weathering the Tottenham storm, Everton are starting to exert a bit of pressure themselves now. Kyle Walker is forced to give away a corner - Everton's first of the game - but the hosts manage to deal with it.

Harry Kane is definitely winning the battle of the in-form strikers at the moment, but Tottenham cannot forget about Romelu Lukaku. The Everton man is left unmarked as Gareth Barry clips the ball into the area but its just ahead of Lukaku's outstretched boot.

Finally the Everton defence is given a chance to catch its breath as the Toffees take the ball up field and Hugo Lloris is called into action for the first time as he thumps away Ross Barkley's fierce cross with Romelu Lukaku lurking at the far post.
