Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino:  "Everton have very good players, we played very well and we deserved the victory. I am very happy for the performance.

"[Harry Kane is] one of the best. I repeat that not only if he scores, even if he does not score. He had a good game, he was fantastic. He deserves all the praise and it is fantastic he is in our side.

"It is a fantastic achievement for the group. We feel very proud. We make history with this group, they are good players and it is only the start of good things in the future.

"It is very good to play in front of our fans, the atmosphere is great and we can feel that. We are in a very good position here."

Sunderland v Manchester City (16:00 GMT)

Interestingly, Sunderland boss David Moyes has only lost two of the 12 home Premier League games he has managed against Manchester City (W7 D3 L2).

Indeed, only against Fulham (12) has he won more home Premier League games than against the Citizens (7).

He hasn't got Tim Cahill in the side today though. Though he does have most of the rest of that Everton team.

    Afternoon everyone!

Spurs may have kept the title race just about, well, a race, but Manchester City might not be finished yet.

They now have two games in hand on Spurs and if they win them both they will be Chelsea's closest challengers.

At the other end, even a win for Sunderland this afternoon won't lift them out of the dreaded bottom three.

    Goals etc today? Yes please...

Everton manager Ronald Koeman : "It was emotional until the last second. We started really well and made it tough for Tottenham to create space between the lines. But our mistakes were punished.

"At least we showed good character. We had a good reaction but overall Tottenham were the stronger team.

"Tottenham have two or three years in a row with the same players, it's all about time which is what we need to have. If we get the time to improve, that's the next step for the club.

"Romelu Lukaku showed again today, he's so strong and dangerous and if he gets a chance it's a goal. It wasn't a competition between the strikers today - but he and Harry Kane both showed their quality of finishing."

Tottenham striker Harry Kane : "I wanted that third goal and I had chances which I should have scored. It would have been another matchball but delighted with the win.

"I feel sharp, fitter than ever so I need to keep it going. Every time I go out there I want to score goals.

"We played very well today and controlled the game and then all of a sudden it was a nervy end. It's an important win, we should have won by more but it's another step closer to the top of the table.

"We want West Ham to win against Chelsea tomorrow, we don't normally say that."

Tottenham's win means they will end the day second in the Premier League, regardless of what Manchester City do against Sunderland.

A win for City, though, will move them up to third. Their game at the Stadium of Light kicks off at 16:00 GMT.

Harry Kane and Dele Alli recreate the special handshake they produced after Kane's first at the full time whistle. Hard to describe it in text form, but the little wriggle of the fingers at the end makes it. Check it out on social media.

Cool or cringey? I'll leave that for you to decide.
