Bournemouth are 15 minutes plus stoppage time away from an incredible point that could kick-start their season.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic looked crestfallen after missing that penalty - a shadow of the man who strutted around Wembley at full-time last Sunday.

That was a horrendous decision. It should never have been a penalty. He was two yards away. There was no way he could get his hand out the way.

After such an action packed first-half it's just gone a bit flat. I think United fans expected their team to run away with this when Bournemouth went down to ten but they are being frustrated.

This will be an excellent point if Bournemouth can hang on.

They've survived wave after wave of pressure, played for over 45 minutes down to 10 men while we're hearing assistant manager Jason Tindall has also been sent to the stand.

I was just looking at Mourinho and he's just told his players on the bench to warm up. That's what it was like when I played here. You think you've got something out of the game and then a player comes off the bench and transforms things.

This is United's 43rd competitive game of the campaign. No signs of tiredness just yet from Jose Mourinho's men but the United boss has a decent bench for the closing stages. Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard are among his options.

Manchester United have been knocking on Bournemouth's door harder than an angry bailiff.

The home side have racked up 14 shots, missing the target with four efforts (red arrows) as well as forcing six saves out of Cherries keeper Artur Boruc (green arrows).

Carrick knew what he was doing. That was a professional foul on King to stop him running away towards goal.

Michael Carrick is the latest to be shown a card by Kevin Friend. It's a yellow after hauling down Joshua King by the touchline. You won't be surprised to learn there's an awful lot of needle between the sides after events towards the end of the first half. 

Artur Boruc is 37 yet the Bournemouth keeper is turning back the clock and having a fine game.

He spreads himself to divert Paul Pogba's long range drive around his post.

United have upped the tempo.

As if Bournemouth's task isn't going to be hard enough with 10 men, here's a belter of a stat to worry the visitors further.

Thirty-eight away teams have had a player sent off at Old Trafford in the Premier League, but none have gone on to win.

Bournemouth will be hoping to become the ninth 10-man team to earn a draw.

By speaking to Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the middle of that pre-half-time skirmish, referee Kevin Friend appears to have indicated he saw the contact with Tyrone Mings.

Yet that might not be the case.

Friend will submit a report of the game to the FA on Monday. If he indicates he did not properly see Ibrahmovic make contact with Mings, or the Bournemouth man clash with the Swede moments earlier, they could both be facing a charge.

I am slightly getting ahead of myself but a three-match ban for Ibrahimovic would rule him out of the FA Cup quarter-final with Chelsea.

Nnaji: The size of Ibrahimovic is intimidating to the referee, that is why he didn't send him off, shame.

Greg: Surman sent off for a shove. Mings & Ibrahimovic not so far for worse offences. Happens a lot with refs these days.

Harrison Short: United should be down to 10, Bournemouth down to nine. This is supposed to be the best league in the world. Shocking officiating.

United have work to do if they want to finish this game in the top four.

Seth Gogo Egoeh: If the referee had sent off Mings for that stamp on Ibrahimovic, there wouldn't have been the 2nd incident (sending off too).   

Matt: The elbow (which may well have been unintentional) would have never happened if the ref had sent off Mings like he should have.
