I've got an awful lot of respect for Michael Carrick. You have to play with him to find out how good he is. I'm delighted to be invited to play in his testimonial. He should have got more caps and opportunities. It would have helped the likes of me and Frank Lampard if he was on the same pitch.

Michael Carrick has told BBC World Service Sportshour he would "probably" retire if he is not offered a new contract by Manchester United in the summer.

The 35-year-old has been at Old Trafford since joining from Tottenham in July 2006 and his current one-year deal expires at the end of June.

"I just can't picture myself playing for anyone else - certainly any other club in England," he said.

There are six or seven teams vying for four positions. It's damaging if you don't finish in the top four. If Liverpool lose to Arsenal then it could be a damaging defeat.

Here are some more of your new rules:

Jahlada Gaming:  Video replay ruling same as Cricket and Rugby. Three challenges per team per half. Captain must challenge.

Red Passion MUFC: Ban sliding tackles. That would promote a fast technical style of play and prevent awful injuries.

Ozi B:  Roll on and off subs would be brilliant as means fans can see players who might not have got a game. We do it in Sunday league.

Roll on and off subs works for me, maybe we could bring in half time cut-up oranges too?!

Earlier we asked what new rules you'd like to see in football. Here are some of your thoughts:

Alex Winstanley: Get rid of yellow cards for celebrating in the crowd. It should be commended not punished.

David Brooke:  Abolish the offside rule. Create a more expansive game. At least I'd like to see an experiment with it.

Chris Lincoln:  Scrap the EFL Cup. Bring in a new 6-aside format, three teams, three goals, one pitch.

Three teams, three goals on one pitch. That's something I'd like to see Chris. Could be complete carnage!
