United's only likely absentee is Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who is doubtful because of a hamstring problem.

Bournemouth winger Jordon Ibe is fit after a knee injury, but manager Eddie Howe says he will make a late call on "one or two other concerns".

Simon Francis is still nursing a hamstring strain and will not feature.

  5. 'Football wants culture of respect'published at 10:13 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2017

    Richard Conway
BBC Radio 5 live sports news correspondent

The game's global lawmakers say they want to improve player behaviour and give referees a helping hand. Team captains will be asked to take on a greater leadership role, something the Premier League has encouraged for a number of years.

The men and women who stand guard over football's law have approved a package of measures including sin-bins for yellow-card offences in amateur football.

A greater use of technology is planned, sensors to determine if a goal has been scored are already in use, but experiments with video replays will now be extended to decide other contentious decisions.

Many sports such as rugby have a long established culture of respect, now football wants to follow suit. Respect is a much-used word within football, the game's guardians hope their changes will make it more of a reality at every level.

Change is a-coming, people. Football's law-makers met on Friday to discuss proposals that will change the beautiful game forever.

    On the agenda?

    •  A video assistant referee system from next season's FA Cup third round
    • Reviewing the order of penalty shootouts - perhaps introducing a tennis-style tie-breaker
    • Use of a fourth substitute during extra time from the quarter-finals of this season's FA Cup
    • And much more...

    Birmingham 1-3 Leeds United

Garry Monk - Championship Manager of the Year? He's got to be up there.

Even the most optimistic of Leeds United fans didn't expect a play-off push. Most Leeds United fans didn't expect Monk to last until Christmas with trigger-happy Massimo Cellino at the helm...

"I didn't enjoy the first 70 minutes. Birmingham were excellent and it was tough for us," said the former Swansea boss.

"We were second best, especially in the first half. They will feel aggrieved that they did not capitalise on the chances they created.

"But we showed a strong mentality and, in that last half-hour, we were excellent. We scored some very good goals and in the end won comfortably."

  9. Friday's Championship actionpublished at 09:56 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2017

    Birmingham 1-3 Leeds United

It has been far from plain sailing for Gianfranco Zola since he replaced Gary Rowett as Birmingham manager. Here's his take on the defeat by Leeds...

"The result does not reflect what happened on the pitch but, on the other side, there was a player who touched the ball three times and scored two," said the Italian.

"We made a few mistakes, but it is difficult to say anything to my team when they have put in a performance like that against a team who are fourth in the league. We are genuinely doing our best. I cannot complain.

"We have to put right the mistakes, but overall it was our best performance of the season. I need to encourage the players to keep playing like this."

Is this finally going to be the year Leeds United return to the Premier League?

Judging by their result at Birmingham City last night, the fallen Yorkshire giants are well placed to end their 13-year from the top flight.

Garry Monk's men were outplayed by the hosts for long periods at St Andrew's, but still managed to win 3-1 thanks to top scorer Chris Wood's brace and  a late finish by Spanish winger Alfonso Pedraza.

Jurgen Klopp tells us that he isn't a "clown", the Daily Star informs us.

Just as well, seeing as a 6ft 4in German wearing a multi-coloured wig and size 16 shoes would not make him inconspicuous walking around Liverpool.

Lawro's opponent for this weekend's Premier League fixtures is  former England cricket captain David Gower.

Gower became a commentator after retiring but is currently on a tour of the country in a stage show with his friend Chris Cowdrey, another former skipper of the national side.

The 59-year-old is now a Leicester fan but, as a boy, his football heroes played for a different club.

Fourth-placed Arsenal's trip to fifth-placed Liverpool is today's blockbusting scene - and Wenger's men need to start keeping their rivals closer.

The Gunners have an abysmal record against the teams also hoping to reach the promised land: the Champions League.

Arsenal have won ONCE in the head-to-head league between the top seven this season. And that win against Chelsea only served to force Antonio Conte into the tactical tweak which has since seen the Blues run away with the title...
