    Tottenham 2-1 Southampton

So that's a victory that extends Spurs' club record of successive league wins at home to 10, but Mauricio Pochettino's side looked less than convincing in the second half.

Credit to Southampton though, they made a good go of it after the break and nearly found a way back into the game.

Pressure back on Chelsea? Maybe not, but Spurs do close the gap on the leaders to 10 points.

You talk about game management, Spurs have certainly done that.

They were outstanding in the first half and professional in the second half.

A flurry of chances as this one suddenly springs to life.

Southampton on the attack this time and Sofiane Boufal cuts inside onto his left before watching his strike fizz wide of Hugo Lloris' near post.

The visitors then look for Shane Long but, you guessed it, he's offside. The Southampton forward offers a hand in the air as an apology.

    From one substitute to another.

Tottenham deal with that Jay Rodriguez effort and spring forward, with Vincent Janssen skipping beyond his marker and into the box.

The Netherlands international lines one up and fires left-footed towards goal, but Fraser Forster parries it wide.

Sofiane Boufal is having a stinker.

He collects a pass from Ryan Betrand and looks to roll his foot over the ball, but instead catches it too thick and it runs out of play.

Southampton win it back though, and Jay Rodriguez scurries forward only to see his shot blocked by Toby Alderweireld.

Harry Winks has injected a bit of energy into that Tottenham midfield since he came on, and Mauricio Pochettino is set to make another change.

Christian Eriksen, who scored the opener, makes way for Vincent Janssen, who would love a goal himself.

Southampton are really sensing they can pressurise Tottenham when they are in possession.

Tottenham are pressing right up with this high line. They are so confident with it.

Sofiane Boufal is running himself dizzy.

Some good work from Steven Davis to find the substitute on the left, but Victor Wanyama just watches on as the Southampton winger's showboat attempt sees him almost trip over the ball and it trickles out for a Tottenham goal kick.

    Oops.

A bit of pushing and shoving between Harry Winks and Sofiane Boufal lands the Southampton man in the book.

Not sure what led to that, but Winks certainly wasn't impressed.

This game needs bringing to life.

Spurs win another free-kick as Shane Long looks to have pitched up camp in an offside position.

He's giving the linesman a right workout.

It feels as if Tottenham are hanging on, just doing enough to stay in control of this match.

Harry Winks' first involvement is to drive his side forward and win a free-kick.

Christian Eriksen curls it in right-footed from the left, but overhits his delivery and Fraser Forster is happy to watch it scoot wide of the goal.

Meanwhile, another change for Spurs. Kyle Walker off, Kieran Trippier on.

Son Heung-min is coming off, Harry Winks the man to come on.

That must mean a reshuffle from Mauricio Pochettino. It looks like Dele Alli is going to play as the furthest man forward, Winks drops into midfield.

Tottenham camped in their own half as Southampton look for a way through.

Some neat, intricate passing from the visitors but Shane Long attempts to make his move too quickly and he's offside from Steven Davis' pass.

    Tottenham 2-1 Southampton

Eric Dier slides in on Steven Davis and wins the ball cleanly, but the Tottenham defender looks to have hurt himself.

He stays down, and the physio is on.

Time for a Spurs change? Well, Dier is now back to his feet, but Harry Winks does look set to come on for the hosts.

Southampton are stopping the ball into Wanyama, happy for the back three to have it.

That means it's long balls towards Son who is not really favourite.
