Well this has put me back in my box.

It was a poor game though, sensational overhead kick and brilliant Adam Lallana volley aside. Yeah?

You've been down on this game from the off, trying to make the commentary fit your preconceived idea that it would be boring. And it's not. So maybe try a bit more journalistic professionalism, yeah?

Stan, I'm well on board with saying that Wayne Rooney's overhead kick v Manchester City was a complete shinner, but Emre Can is getting full marks from me.

    Great goal.

    Agree?

Stan: More of a miss hit from Emre Can for that goal. Good technique, but got lucky. Kind of poked with his toe than laces.

It only seems fair that Lucas will score a solo dribble from his own half now.

Watford have ability and the players out there to fight back, but you could see they would have been happy with 0-0 at half-time.

They let Liverpool have possession in front of them, and limited them to very few chances. It took a spectacular goal to break the deadlock

And that is why you love football. You can never tell can you?

In a few years' time you'll see that goal in an episode of Premier League years, under an Ed Sheeran soundtrack, and think 'wow that was a good season wasn't it?'

What a brilliant goal! I was thinking 'what is he doing' when he started lining it up. It was a great delivery into the box by Lucas.

We spoke about Liverpool getting support up to Divock Origi and that was the first time that Emre Can had made a run into the Watford box. It was one of the goals of the season.

Well that is just stupid. A dreadful half of football is suddenly illuminated with a sensational goal!

If I tell you that Lucas has just played an exquisite chip into the area and Emre Can has just met it with an overhead kick into the top corner, then you will

    a) probably not believe me and then

    b) remind me that I said after 11 minutes that a midfield of Lucas and Can offers 'no creativity.'

    Rubbish game. BRILLIANT goal...

The referee has got that spot on. Lucas is even arguing with the referee - that's embarrassing. Jurgen Klopp is laughing, I'm not sure if it is because he feels the decision has gone against him, or because he thinks it is a joke the way Lucas threw himself to the ground.

Lucas goes into the book for a dreadful attempt at a dive. He runs into Tom Cleverley, tries to anyway, but Cleverley gets out of his way and Lucas just falls over.

That was a brilliant strike from Adam Lallana.

It came from a misunderstanding between Gomes and one of his defenders. He didn't get the clearance he wanted with the punch and it went straight to Lallana.

It was a swerving, dipping volley. It looked in all the way.

Wooooosssh! There we go! Some actual quality!

What an effort that is. Heurelho Gomes comes for a corner and punches it out, Adam Lallana waits for it, waits, waits, and then crunches a left-footed volley from 25 yards, over Gomes and onto the crossbar and away.

Completely out of context with the rest of the game. Brilliant effort.

Saturday's Premier League action was so boring it was almost exciting - especially if you love stats.

We try to work out if this weekend included the dullest day in the competition's history.
